"Organizing extra teaching and learning is a complicated issue with great demand. If there are no strict and appropriate management measures, the ones who will suffer the most will be the students.
To put the new circular into practice and be effective, it is necessary to synchronously implement solutions, in which the important thing is to change awareness.
Schools need to propagate and mobilize staff and teachers to raise awareness and "say no" to illegal extra teaching," said the director of the Department of Education and Training.
Regulations on extra teaching and learning issued by the Ministry of Education and Training on December 30 with 6 new points.
On February 11, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requested educational institutions to comply with regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
This Department requests the Department of Education and Training, schools, general education institutions, vocational education and continuing education centers in the city to seriously and fully implement the contents of Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT, dated December 30, 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating extra teaching and learning.
The Department also requires localities and educational institutions in the area to disseminate and propagate to cadres, teachers, staff, students and parents regulations on extra teaching in accordance with regulations.
Since the beginning of the week, high schools in Hanoi have simultaneously notified parents about stopping tutoring, knowledge enrichment, and high school graduation exam review classes from February 14.
Only a few schools continue to provide extra review for grade 12 students by mobilizing teachers' volunteers or drawing funds from internal spending sources such as Xuan Dinh, Thach Ban, Viet Duc, Tran Phu schools...
In secondary schools, except for schools that are teaching 2 sessions/day, the rest have completely stopped extra classes, including grade 9.
Some secondary schools that teach 2 sessions a day only continue to teach literature, math and English in the afternoon, and cancel all other subjects in the afternoon.
In primary schools, many schools have announced the suspension of math and Vietnamese clubs. Parents should pick up their children at 3:30 p.m. every day.
The implementation of Circular 29 has been thoroughly implemented by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to 100% of schools in the city, without exception.
