Ready to operate the "Digital Education for All" platform

From the "Popular Education" movement to "Digital Popular Education"

80 years ago, when the country had just gained independence, more than 95% of the population could not read or write, “ignorance” became one of the three dangerous enemies (along with famine and foreign invaders). Therefore, the “Popular Education” movement was born with the urgent goal of eliminating illiteracy and raising the cultural level of the people.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said: President Ho Chi Minh once said, “An ignorant nation is a weak nation.” Therefore, improving people’s knowledge is a solid foundation for building an independent and powerful nation. As a result, in just a short time, millions of Vietnamese people have learned to read and write, making an important contribution to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

"Popular digital literacy" to master technology, contributing to building a civilized digital society

It can be said that the "Popular Education" movement launched by President Ho Chi Minh is a symbol of determination, will, and solidarity to help people escape the darkness of illiteracy and access knowledge.

Up to now, when the country is facing a historic opportunity to enter a new era, developing strongly with the main driving force coming from science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, we must carry out a particularly important and urgent task, which is to popularize knowledge and technology on digital transformation, digital skills for all people, so that every Vietnamese person can access and effectively use digital services and platforms, become digital citizens, this movement still retains its value when it is developed to a new height with the name "Digital Literacy for All". This is a movement of great significance and profound humanity for the development of the country, demonstrating the determination of the Party and State in the development of digital government, digital economy, digital society, smart, civilized and humane digital citizens; promoting the tradition of studiousness, love of learning, and the spirit of lifelong learning of the Vietnamese people.

"This is not only an educational initiative, the "Digital Literacy for All" movement is also a bridge between the past and the future. By promoting historical lessons, we strive to build a society that is not only rich in knowledge, but also rich in technological power, ready to integrate and develop. Because, "knowledge is the key, technology is the door to open a brighter future" - the Prime Minister emphasized.

Deploy the movement widely and effectively across the country

Deputy Minister of Public Security, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long said that, as the Standing Agency of Project No. 06, the Ministry of Public Security has presided over and closely coordinated with Hanoi University of Science and Technology, along with ministries, branches and localities to organize the construction, completion and operation of "Digital Popular Education" - a national training platform managed and operated by the Ministry of Public Security and Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Up to now, the program has initially recorded important results for the dissemination of digital knowledge, supporting students to study online on a widespread internet platform for the entire population, specifically: Training has been provided for more than 200,000 students (civil servants, public employees, workers, armed forces...) in 50 localities with 2 topics on Digital Transformation and Digital Space Security. Coordinated with the Ministry of Home Affairs to organize training for cadres, civil servants, and public employees nationwide with nearly 20,000 students in all provinces and cities nationwide.

Sharing specifically about the "Digital Education for the People" platform, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long said: the platform is designed on the basis of applying the most advanced technology standards in the field of online training, ensuring flexible scalability and meeting large-scale needs of learners. Learners can access quickly and easily from any location with an internet connection, on popular devices, providing the ability to interact between teachers and learners in many forms, self-study according to video lectures, supervised learning both directly by humans or through artificial intelligence (AI)...

Connecting to the Ministry of Public Security's electronic identification and authentication platform allows the system to identify learners through VNeID accounts, thereby tracking each learner's learning process in detail, evaluating, monitoring and reporting the learner's learning progress using AI facial recognition technology, ensuring seriousness in learning and exams.

Youth is the vanguard force in the "Popular Digital Education" movement

With the spirit of youth initiative and creativity, the movement "Digital Education for All" in the coming time will be widely and strongly deployed throughout the Union with a focus on propaganda, raising awareness, renewing thinking, strengthening education orientation to create a new atmosphere among youth and children about science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

"With the above-mentioned superior features, the "Digital Popular Education" platform is ready to be put into operation nationwide from April 1, 2025. In the first year of implementation, it is expected to help reduce up to 80% of training and coaching costs compared to traditional methods, contributing to improving the effectiveness of state management, saving social resources and promoting the dissemination of digital knowledge to all people.

However, to ensure the successful implementation of the "Digital Education for All" platform nationwide, the Central Propaganda and Education Commission needs to launch the "Digital Education for All" movement; coordinate the organization of extensive communication and propaganda activities in the political system and the whole society, raising people's awareness of the importance and practical benefits of digital transformation learning. Thereby, gradually forming a widespread, voluntary learning movement, aiming to build a learning society and digital citizens...
