These 5 losses of Hanoi FC include 3 losses in the AFC Champions League group stage and 2 losses in the V-League.
The above consecutive failures caused Hanoi FC to stand at the bottom of the table in both official tournaments they are participating in.

Specifically, the former V-League champion team is at the bottom of Group J of the AFC Champions League. They only have 3 points, behind Wuhan Three Towns (4 points), Uwara Reds (Japan, 4 points) and Pohang Steelers (Korea, 12 points). In the 2023-2024 V-League season, Hanoi FC has not even had any points, ranking at the bottom of the table.
The victory over Wuhan Three Towns against Hanoi FC is therefore mainly of spiritual significance. Mr. Hien's team still has almost no chance of passing the group stage of this tournament. Hanoi FC's two upcoming opponents, Pohang Steelers (November 29) and Uwara Reds (December 6), are much stronger than Wuhan Three Towns.
Facing a stronger opponent than last night, Hanoi FC also has problems with its personnel. Center back Duy Manh had a traffic accident, making it difficult for him to return to his best form in the near future.
Meanwhile, striker Joel Tagueu as well as other foreign players of Hanoi FC have had problems with their performance since the beginning of the tournament.
In previous years, the former V-League champion team had to face some difficulties in the early stages of the season. They also had to face many times the situation of key players losing form or getting injured at the beginning of the season.

But unlike previous seasons, Hanoi FC's current squad is no longer as strong. For example, after Do Duy Manh's injury, Mr. Hien's team no longer has players of the same level as Viet Anh and Doan Van Hau to fill the void. The reason is that the aforementioned players have all moved to other teams.
Also in previous years, in case Van Quyet could not shine and could not carry the attack of Hanoi FC, this team still had Quang Hai or Thanh Luong who could play a similar role.
Currently, Quang Hai has moved to another club, while Thanh Luong has retired, so Hanoi FC's squad is no longer as deep as in previous seasons.
That is the reason why Hanoi FC seems to be running out of steam in the new season, when forced to stretch their strength and spread their forces across two different major fronts (AFC Champions League and V-League).
Hanoi FC's victory over Wuhan Three Towns last night (November 8) mainly came from the pride of a big team being put in a challenged position, before that pride created a strong resistance from Tuan Hai and his teammates.
In the long run, Hanoi FC must solve the problem of force and performance of key players to be able to regain their image of the past years!
