Hanoi proposes adding extra 10th grade exam points for excellent city-level students

Students participating in this year's city-level excellent student selection exam were selected from tens of thousands of 9th graders from junior high schools and high schools of many levels in districts, towns and cities.

Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the unit organizes 30 testing sites, located in 30 districts, towns and cities.

Students take the exam in 13 subjects including: Literature, History, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, English, French, Japanese, Civic Education and Science.

In which, the Science subject includes knowledge and skills of physics, chemistry, and biology, with the general orientation of the exam being to require students to apply the knowledge they have learned to solve practical problems.

3,500 students participated in the Hanoi excellent student competition.

Regarding the organization of the exam, Hanoi mobilized more than 1,000 teachers and staff to perform the exam. To ensure the accuracy, objectivity, fairness and authenticity of the exam results, the invigilators were rotated between districts.

Immediately after organizing the exam, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will immediately start grading the exam and announce the results before the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday.

According to the leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the Department has and will continue to propose to the Ministry of Education and Training a policy of adding extra points in the 10th grade high school entrance exam for students who won prizes in the city-level 9th grade cultural and science subject excellent student exam.

Hanoi will also research and propose timely rewards for teachers with good achievements in training excellent students.
