For candidates who achieve an expected score of less than 5 points per subject in the 10th grade entrance exam, it is very difficult to get into top public schools. Below are some high schools in Hanoi with an average score of three subjects for admission below 5 points, candidates and parents can refer to more.
Area 1: Ba Dinh District, Tay Ho
In area 1 of Ba Dinh and Tay Ho districts, candidates cannot pass the 10th grade entrance exam with an average score of 5 points/subject. Because in the past 5 years, the lowest standard score that this area took was 40 points (in 2022), an average of 8 points/subject.
Area 2: Hoan Kiem and Hai Ba Trung Districts
Looking at the overall benchmark scores in region 2, candidates have a very low probability of passing. In the past 5 years, most schools in this region have set an average benchmark score of over 6 points per subject.
However, 2024 is the only year in region 2 where Doan Ket High School has a benchmark score of 23.75 points, equivalent to 6 points/subject.

Area 3: Dong Da, Thanh Xuan, Cau Giay Districts
In the past 5 years, in Dong Da, Thanh Xuan, Cau Giay areas, there is no school with an average standard score of less than 5 points per subject.
Area 4: Hoang Mai District, Thanh Tri District
In 2020, in region 4, only Nguyen Quoc Trinh High School had a benchmark score of 25 points - an average of 5 points per subject, and this school always had the lowest benchmark score. Meanwhile, from 2021 to now, all schools have an average benchmark score of over 5 points per subject.
Area 5: Long Bien District and Gia Lam District
Schools in Long Bien and Gia Lam districts all have an average standard score of over 5 points per subject, so low test scores make it difficult to get into schools in these areas.
Area 6: Dong Anh, Soc Son, Me Linh districts
Similar to the above areas, the benchmark scores of schools in area 6 are also quite high. Only Minh Phu High School has a much lower benchmark score than the other schools and has five average benchmark scores below 5 points/subject, which parents can consider.
Area 7: Bac Tu Liem District, Nam Tu Liem District, Hoai Duc District, Dan Phuong District
In general, from 2020 to 2021, some schools in this area had an average benchmark score of less than 5 points per subject. Starting from 2022 - 2024, the benchmark scores of schools increased, with no school having a benchmark score of less than 5 points per subject.

For this year's public high school 10th grade entrance exam, Hanoi divided districts, towns, and cities into 12 enrollment areas, making it easier for students to register their wishes.
According to regulations, each student can register up to 3 admission wishes to public high schools, ranked in order 1, 2 and 3.
Of which, wishes 1 and 2 must be in the same enrollment area according to regulations (with permanent residence); wishes 3 can be in any enrollment area. Students are not allowed to change their wishes after registration.
If a student only registers for 2 options, the first option must be in the designated enrollment area, and the second option must be in any enrollment area. If a student only registers for 1 option, he/she can choose any enrollment area in the city.
