The 8th Vietnam-China border defense friendship exchange was a great success.

Within the framework of the 8th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, on April 12, Senior General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense of Vietnam and Senior Lieutenant General Dong Jun, Minister of National Defense of China, along with high-ranking delegations from the two countries' Defense Ministries visited Company 27, Border Guard Brigade 314 in Yunnan Province (China).

Visiting the facilities and training of Company 27, Border Guard Brigade 314, Minister Phan Van Giang and Minister Dong Quan believed that cooperation in border management and protection, especially between border management and protection forces, border military regions and localities of Vietnam and China, will continue to be actively implemented, achieving many practical results; the system of border lines and border markers will be maintained; political security and social order in border areas will be ensured.

Speaking at Company 27, Border Guard Brigade 314, Major General Hoang Huu Chien, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Vietnam Border Guard, expressed his impression of the achievements, traditions, and process of building and growing of the unit; and thanked the leaders of the Southern Theater Command and the Chinese People's Liberation Army for coordinating with the Vietnam Border Guard Command to direct border units on both sides to proactively coordinate closely, effectively, and practically in border management and protection.

Major General Hoang Huu Chien expressed his belief that in the coming time, based on the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders and the good results achieved, the Southern Theater Command, the government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Yunnan Province and Company 27, Border Guard Brigade 314 will continue to strengthen close, effective and practical coordination with the Border Guard Command, local authorities of the 7 northern border provinces and the Border Guard of Lao Cai Province of Vietnam, contributing to building a stable, peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developed Vietnam-China border and border area.

Next, Minister Phan Van Giang and Minister Dong Quan and the delegates visited the photo exhibition celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange with the theme "Harmony, prosperity, safety, beauty". The exhibition took viewers back to important milestones, locations where the exchanges took place, and impressive and emotional moments through each exchange.

After 10 years with 8 successful events, the Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange has become an effective and unique cooperation model; demonstrating the political determination of both sides in strengthening the solidarity, friendship and attachment between the people, local authorities and the two countries' Defense Ministries, together building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developed border.

At the end of the visit, Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun hosted a reception for Minister Phan Van Giang and the high-ranking delegation of the two countries' Defense Ministries.

Speaking at the reception, Minister Dong Jun believed that under the leadership of the top leaders of the two Parties, the China-Vietnam relationship will become increasingly strong, firmly following the socialist path, joining hands to bring happiness to the two countries and peoples; consolidating and developing the relationship between the two armies, and joining hands to protect the peace of each country and the region.
