The project aims to carry out military-civilian Tet activities in 2026 in Hoa Dien commune.
The project has 16 farming households from Cang, Nui Trau and Tan Dien hamlets; the total area is 64ha of extensive shrimp farming on rice fields. The project implementation period is 24 months from the date the Provincial Farmers Support Fund Executive Board disburses capital to borrowers; the loan fee is 0.7%/month, equivalent to 8.4%/year.
At the disbursement ceremony, Provincial Party Committee member and Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Kien Giang province , Do Tran Thinh, assigned the Standing Committee of the Farmers' Association of Kien Luong district to direct the Executive Board of the district's Farmers' Support Fund and the Farmers' Association of Hoa Dien commune to coordinate with relevant units to effectively carry out propaganda work and thoroughly educate borrowers about the principles, purposes of using loans, rights and obligations when borrowing; organize scientific and technical training for farmers borrowing loans; strictly implement the reporting, inspection and supervision regime for the project, ensure that the loan capital is for the right subjects, for the right purposes, is effective, and successfully builds an economic development model.
Households participating in the shrimp-rice project in Hoa Dien commune received capital from the Kien Giang province farmer support fund at the disbursement session.
To effectively utilize capital in the first shrimp crop, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Kien Giang Province Do Tran Thinh reminded households participating in the project to use shrimp seeds from reputable establishments, not to buy floating seeds of unknown origin; and to follow the correct technical procedures in pond renovation to ensure a successful shrimp crop.
