Previously, at around 10:40 a.m. on March 18, the Immigration Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police received a report from the public that a Mong woman was suspected of being tricked and sold to China by bad guys. The unit coordinated with the Lao Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station to quickly deploy forces to check and control immigration. At around 12:40 p.m. on March 18, when this woman was completing exit procedures to China at the Lao Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station, the forces coordinated to temporarily detain her to investigate and clarify related issues.

The results identified the woman as VTC, born in 1999, residing in Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province (photo above). Ms. C said that through the social network Tiktok, she knew some people who could take her to China to find a job or arrange a marriage. When she arrived in China, she discovered many unusual things, so C tried to report to Chinese authorities to be rescued and supported in completing procedures to return to Vietnam on the afternoon of March 17.

Knowing that Ms. C had arrived at the Lao Cai international border gate, the people who had tricked and sold her to China the day before came to pick her up and continued with the exit procedures to take her to China for the second time. However, the authorities promptly discovered and rescued her. On March 20, the authorities carried out the procedures to hand over Ms. C to her family to take her back to her hometown (photo above)./.
