The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in the first 9 months of 2023, the total value of agricultural products is estimated at 10,903 billion VND (up 4.41% over the same period in 2022). In general, agricultural, forestry and fishery production maintained stable development.

In particular, in the field of cultivation: winter-spring crop production 2022-2023 and summer-autumn crop 2023 are on schedule; the planting area exceeds the set plan.

Specifically: the whole province planted 67,766 hectares of winter-spring crop (reaching 117.73% of the plan, an increase of about 490 hectares compared to the same period in 2022); food output reached 375,686 tons (120.53% of the plan). The total crop area (including summer-autumn and autumn-winter crops) is nearly 255,000 hectares. Up to now, localities are harvesting the summer-autumn crop (reaching over 50% of the plan) and implementing the planting of the autumn-winter crop (reaching over 70% of the plan).

For perennial industrial crops, the estimated implementation in the first 9 months of the year is 357,939 hectares (an increase of 3,575 hectares compared to the same period in 2022), of which the industrial crop area is 306,001 hectares (a decrease of 5,039 hectares compared to the same period in 2022), the fruit tree area is 51,938 hectares (an increase of 8,214 hectares compared to the same period in 2022).

Livestock and aquaculture continue to develop steadily: the number of livestock and poultry reaches 14.98 million (an increase of about 107,500 heads compared to the same period in 2022), the output of fresh meat is estimated at 189,160 tons (equal to 78.2% of the plan); aquaculture output is estimated at over 20,540 tons (an increase of 260 tons) and the exploitation output is estimated at 1,275 tons (an increase of 30 tons compared to the same period in 2022).

Forest management, protection and development have been focused on by all levels, sectors and localities; enterprises and forest owners have planted over 1,750 hectares of forest (96.4% of the plan). At the same time, the program to assess forest cover and perennial trees of agricultural and forestry landscape ecosystems in the area has been focused on to update the province's forest cover.

According to the assessment of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the bright spot of cultivation in the first 9 months of 2023 is that the prices of agricultural products increased sharply compared to 2022, typically: Rice prices fluctuated from 8.5 - 9 million VND/ton (an increase of about 1 million VND/ton); coffee prices fluctuated from 65 - 70 million VND/ton, (an increase of about 20 million VND/ton); the average price of durian was from 70,000 - 90,000 VND/kg (an increase of about 25,000 VND/kg... bringing great profits to farmers, contributing to promoting the province's agricultural development.

To ensure the achievement of growth targets according to the province's socio-economic development plan, in the remaining months of 2023, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will regularly inspect and supervise the progress and results of the implementation of the proposed programs and plans; direct localities to regularly monitor and inspect the implementation of production plans, advise people to carry out production according to the plan; guide the implementation of crop conversion, appropriate crop and livestock structure to ensure production meets the plan...
