Limited supply, low new crop yield, increased consumption demand, and unfavorable weather in pepper growing countries are reasons why pepper prices are expected to increase in the coming time.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association, global pepper supply is being affected by severe weather in major producing countries. In Vietnam, pepper output in the 2024-2025 crop year is expected to decrease by about 5% compared to the previous year due to prolonged drought and high production costs.
Global demand for pepper continues to increase strongly, especially from large markets such as the US and Europe. This brings great opportunities for Vietnamese pepper exporters, especially when Vietnamese pepper products are increasingly asserting their position in the international market.

According to experts, after many years of falling prices, pepper has now peaked again, even surpassing the threshold of 160,000 VND/kg. The high price of pepper has brought garden owners more profits and restored their confidence in this valuable crop.
According to VPA data, in the first two months of 2025, Vietnam exported about 45,000 tons of pepper, up 3% in volume and 12% in value over the same period last year. This shows that Vietnam's pepper export value is improving thanks to high demand from international markets.
With the current supply and demand situation, the Vietnamese pepper industry is facing many great opportunities for development, especially in export. However, businesses need to pay attention to factors such as production costs and market fluctuations to optimize profits.
