On March 17, in Pleiku City, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province solemnly held the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Gia Lai Province Liberation Day (March 17, 1975 - March 17, 2025).
Attending the ceremony on behalf of the Central Committee were Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie K'dam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council, National Assembly delegate of Gia Lai province and National Assembly delegates of Gia Lai province.

At the ceremony, Mr. Ho Van Nien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Council reviewed the 50th anniversary of the province's Liberation Day. After the historic April 30, 1975, from the ruins of war, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Gia Lai province have strived to overcome many obstacles, confidently building and protecting a new life. During the renovation period, under the leadership of the Party, Gia Lai promoted comprehensive renovation, gradually integrating, creating advantages to develop the province. The economic growth rate - GRDP is estimated to increase by an average of 6.21%/year. The economic scale is 1.9 times higher than at the beginning of the term.
The economic structure continues to shift in the right direction, with per capita income in 2024 reaching more than 68 million VND, and estimated to reach 75.69 million VND in 2025. The average annual budget revenue growth rate in the 2021-2025 period is estimated at 14.1% - exceeding the set target. In addition, Gia Lai always pays attention to social security work, and localities in the province have fully and promptly implemented policies for beneficiaries.
Poverty reduction work has been of interest to both the political system and the people in the province, so the poverty rate has decreased from 12.09% in 2021 to 6.06% by the end of 2024 (according to the new criteria). In particular, the poverty rate of ethnic minorities has decreased from 25.58% in 2021 to 12.66% by the end of 2024, reaching and exceeding the target of reducing the poverty rate among ethnic minorities.
“Gia Lai today still carries within itself the vitality and heroism of a land steeped in epic history and rich in revolutionary traditions. With strength and strong belief, promoting the spirit of “self-reliance - self-confidence - self-reliance - self-strengthening - national pride”, Gia Lai will firmly step with the country into a new era - the era of national growth”, Mr. Ho Van Nien proudly shared.
On behalf of the former provincial leaders, speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ksor Phuoc - Former member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council, Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee shared that our generations and future generations must always continue and promote the glorious revolutionary tradition of previous generations. Revolution is the cause of all people. Every victory of the Vietnamese revolution is associated with the leadership role of the Party.
The former Secretary of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee expressed his hope that Party committees and authorities at all levels will continue to have breakthrough solutions, effectively exploit the potential and strengths of the locality, and bring Gia Lai to strong development in the new period.
Within the framework of the Gia Lai Liberation Day celebration program, tonight, March 17, at Dai Doan Ket Square, Gia Lai province will organize an art program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Gia Lai Liberation Day (March 17, 1975 - March 17, 2025) with the theme "The Country is Full of Joy". In particular, the program will have a fireworks display to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Gia Lai Liberation Day.
