According to the report of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company, during the peak period of passenger service during the recent National Day holiday on September 2, the three bus stations managed by the company (including Giap Bat, Gia Lam and My Dinh) operated 10,291 trips in and out of the station, serving a total of 115,912 passengers. Of which, Giap Bat Bus Station operated 4,075 trips, serving 42,690 passengers; Gia Lam Bus Station operated 2,137 trips, serving 13,020 passengers; My Dinh Bus Station operated 4,079 trips, serving 60,202 passengers. Also during the holiday, in order to meet the increased travel demand of passengers, the three stations added 853 passenger cars. Of which, Giap Bat Bus Station added 386 cars; Gia Lam Bus Station added 12 cars; My Dinh Bus Station added 455 vehicles. According to Mr. Pham Manh Hung, Director of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company, during the National Day holiday, August 31 was the peak day of the peak period with a total of 2,370 trips at all 3 bus stations, serving 44,126 passengers (an increase of 473% compared to normal days and an increase of 106% compared to the same period last year). The number of vehicles and passengers increased, however, the Company directed the stations to quickly develop service plans, proactively develop operating plans close to actual developments; and be ready to send additional vehicles if necessary. “In addition, the bus stations also ensure security, order and social safety, resolutely fight against social evils, touts, street vendors... causing disorder at the bus stations... Thanks to that, we have best served the travel needs of the people and created favorable conditions for transport units to operate at the stations,” said Mr. Pham Manh Hung. The assessment of the representative of the National Traffic Safety Committee during the 4-day National Day holiday on September 2nd showed that the bus stations were open. The number of departing vehicles and passengers increased compared to normal days in the first and last days of the holiday, but there was little jostling. Transport companies with their own ticket counters proactively sold tickets to passengers in advance with many forms of ticket purchase (via phone, home delivery, online purchase, purchase at many ticket sales locations so that passengers knew the departure time of the bus and proactively went to the station to take the bus). Regarding inter-provincial passenger transport, inter-provincial passenger transport routes basically met the needs of people's travel. Localities have directed to proactively arrange backup vehicles to be ready to clear passengers if congestion occurs, and sudden increases in traffic have been implemented well. According to the representative of the National Traffic Safety Committee, during the holidays, specialized management departments under the Ministry of Transport and transport departments have proactively built scenarios suitable to the actual travel needs of people (including the arrangement of means of transport and the number of spare vehicles, and the management of transport fares). The authorities have also set up a hotline to receive and handle situations arising during the transport service during the holidays in order to better serve the travel needs of the people, minimizing issues affecting order and traffic safety during the holidays to ensure smooth traffic.
Bus stations are determined not to allow passenger vehicles that do not meet standards or quality and charge higher than the regulated fare during the upcoming National Day holiday on September 2.
