According to the railway industry, train SE1 with 113 passengers departed from Hanoi station at 10:10 p.m. today (January 28 - December 29), expected to welcome the New Year when passing through Nam Dinh province. In the opposite direction, train SE4 departed from Saigon station at 7:30 p.m. with 330 passengers. The total number of passengers getting on and off the entire journey on New Year's Eve was 995 people.

On the two "spring trains", the Vietnam Railways industry arranged two specially designed, unique community cars with the exterior painted with paintings related to folk cultural activities during Tet such as flower markets, calligraphy, etc. These two cars are also where community cultural activities take place throughout the journey.

Passengers participating in the "spring train" will be able to participate in many interesting and attractive experiences throughout the journey such as countdown; the "Lucky Draw" program at the beginning of the year with lucky money prizes worth from 200,000 - 500,000 VND and the special prize is a "voucher to exchange for a pair of free train tickets" valid for use in 2025. In addition, passengers can also participate in folk games and cultural exchanges right in the community car.

This year's New Year's Eve "Spring Train" also attracted the participation of many foreign tourists.

According to the railway industry, the “spring train” is a new tourism product that will be launched for the first time during the Lunar New Year 2025, aiming to bring many interesting and attractive experiences to domestic passengers and international tourists in the first days of the new year.

It is known that during the Lunar New Year 2025, the railway industry has organized ticket sales from October 1, 2024 - earlier than the 2024 Lunar New Year and will not sell extra seats or convertible seats on trains. As of the end of January 28, the number of tickets sold was 434,205, with revenue reaching 361 billion VND, reaching 88% in passenger volume, 79% in revenue compared to last year's Lunar New Year.

This year, the railway industry will use 54 trains, regularly running 7 pairs of passenger trains between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Thong Nhat passenger train) and 9 pairs of regional passenger trains during the 2025 Tet holiday.
