After a long period of speculation, FPT and Chelsea officially announced that they would become "global strategic partners" on April 10 (Hanoi time). In addition to brand promotion, the Vietnamese technology company will accompany, analyze data and apply artificial intelligence to the Stamford Bridge team.
"On the occasion of our 120th anniversary, we understand that the future of the team is not only about success on the pitch but also about the journey of transformation based on technology. In recent years, Vietnam has grown significantly and become a global digital technology center, demonstrating the spirit and capacity of the Vietnamese people.
FPT's expertise in core business, smart data and AI will make them the perfect partner to take Chelsea into the new era," said Todd Kline, Chelsea's Chief Commercial Officer.
Meanwhile, FPT said that as football develops, the company hopes to strengthen the connection between the fan community around the world and the team they love.

Announced on the team's homepage, Chelsea called FPT a "technology partner". Thus, the Vietnamese enterprise will become one of the global sponsors of the 2020-2021 Champions League champion. Currently, this list includes 16 brands from fields such as sports, cryptocurrency, beverages, tires...
In addition, the rumor that FPT will be Chelsea's shirt sponsor is also not true. Previously, many insider news accounts in the UK shared information that Chelsea is negotiating a sponsorship contract for next season with a software company from Vietnam. Citing journalist Lukasz Bączek, Footy Headlines rumored that Chelsea is negotiating with FPT Software.
The Stamford Bridge club remains one of the few clubs to play in Europe's top leagues without a sponsor logo on their shirts. Last year, they brought in Infinite Athlete, a sports technology solutions company. However, the company was found to have many secret relationships with the club's owners.
Many sources revealed that Chelsea hoped that achieving good results and qualifying for the Champions League next season would help them negotiate a better contract. The expected amount is a sponsorship of 50 million pounds per year, over many seasons. Before FPT Software, Middle Eastern airlines and American technology companies were also rumored to be cooperating with Chelsea.
Cole Palmer and his team-mates had a sub-par weekend as they were held to a draw by Brentford in the Premier League. They missed the chance to widen the gap on Man City in the top four when Pep's side drew stalemate with Manchester United on Super Sunday. The London club currently have 53 points after 31 games, level with Newcastle United, but have played one game more. However, thanks to the good performance of English teams in C1, the EPL's fifth-placed team still has a ticket to next season's Champions League.
FPT is a technology corporation headquartered in Vietnam, operating in the core fields of technology, telecommunications and education. In 2024, FPT recorded a total revenue of 2.47 billion USD, of which, IT services for foreign markets accounted for about 50% of the total revenue of the whole corporation. Before Chelsea, the reigning EPL champion Manchester City also announced a partnership with Wake-cup 247 coffee, part of Vietnam's Masan Group.
