Pho Festival 2024 takes place over three days, with many activities honoring Vietnamese pho.

On February 29, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nam Dinh province, the Nam Dinh Culinary Culture Association... held a press conference to announce information about the Pho Festival with the theme "Vietnamese Pho Road", to honor and preserve the traditional pho profession.

According to Ms. Le Thi Thiet, President of Nam Dinh Culinary Culture Association, Pho Festival 2024 will officially take place for three days, from March 15-17, in Nam Dinh city (Nam Dinh province).

The festival aims to honor the traditional pho profession; at the same time, it is an opportunity for tourists and locals to learn about and enjoy the taste of pho associated with regional cultures across the country.

The event aims to contribute to spreading Vietnamese pho, integrating more strongly, and bringing Vietnamese culinary values further on the world culinary map.

In addition, the series of activities at the Festival also aim to elevate Vietnamese cuisine, making Pho a national brand, associated with the development of domestic and international tourism. Through the Festival, the Organizing Committee also hopes to prepare a dossier to submit to UNESCO to make Vietnamese Pho a world cultural heritage.

The main activity of the Festival is called "Vietnamese Pho Road", which will gather more than 50 booths of businesses and brands participating in advertising and promoting the image and brand of Vietnamese Pho from all over the country. The booths are arranged in separate areas, creating highlights, with connections in ideas and content; divided into 3 areas: Pho booth of 3 regions; booth of ingredients and spices; standard booth. Booths are open from 9 am to 10 pm daily.

In addition to directly introducing the flavor of Vietnamese pho, the Pho Festival also organizes many activities such as: Collecting images "Honoring Vietnamese Pho", roadshow Pho Festival 2024; promotion with the theme Vietnamese Pho Road; activities to set a record for the giant pho pot; discussion on the development of the pho profession from the past to the future; space to display pho culture...

The program also includes activities to experience the stages of making pho for ambassadors, guests and tourists at the traditional pho village of Van Cu. This is a good opportunity for Vietnam to introduce to the world its unique cultural and culinary values; contributing to promoting the images and economic and tourism potential of Vietnam through investment and trade promotion activities, introducing products of manufacturing enterprises in the food and foodstuff sector.

Throughout the 3 days of the Pho Festival 2024, the Organizing Committee will have a special promotion program: Issuing from 15,000 - 20,000 pho coupons, each coupon is worth 15,000 VND. With each coupon, diners will enjoy a bowl of pho at the booths of their choice. At the end of the 3 days of the event, the Organizing Committee will donate the proceeds from 5,000 coupons to the Cerebral Palsy Children's Fund in Nam Dinh province.

Mr. Do Quang Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nam Dinh province, said that in 2023, the unit is working with related units and coordinating with a number of provinces and cities to build a dossier to submit for recognition of pho as a national intangible cultural heritage, moving towards making Vietnam's pho a world cultural heritage.
