YONHAP. ​​South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol pledged to increase the budget for space development to more than 1.5 trillion won ($1.14 billion) by 2027.

KATHMANDU POST. Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has survived a confidence vote in the lower house of parliament, a week after he formed his third coalition in more than a year.

DAWN. At least 12 Pakistani fishermen were killed when their boat capsized in the Arabian Sea, the military said, while the navy was searching for two missing.

PTI. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his British counterpart Rishi Sunak held a phone call, reaffirming their commitment to work towards “early signing of a mutually beneficial FTA”.

BANGKOK POST. The Royal Thai Navy (RTN) has concluded a 19-day salvage operation of the HTMS Sukhothai destroyer and is planning to build a memorial to honor the crew.

Europe

THE STAR. Malaysia attracts potential investments worth RM45.4 billion ($9.69 billion) from Germany from various industries such as semiconductors, aerospace, medical devices, chemicals and services.

BBC. The UK government will pay people whose asylum claims are rejected £3,000 to move to Rwanda instead of staying in the UK under plans recently put forward by Chancellor Rishi Sunak's government.

AFP. With 523 MEPs voting in favor, 46 against and 49 abstaining, the European Parliament (EP) passed the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act - the first comprehensive legal framework on AI globally.

AFP. A Greek military ship serving as part of the EU naval mission in the Red Sea fired on two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and repelled them, a Greek Defense Ministry official said.

AP. At least seven people died while trying to cross by boat from West Africa to Spain's Canary Islands, the Spanish maritime rescue service and the Red Cross said.

ANADOLU. Senior Turkish and Iraqi officials met in Baghdad today, March 14, to discuss energy and defense cooperation.

LE PAIS. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced a 1 billion euro ($1.09 billion) investment fund to boost artificial intelligence (AI) projects and called for “ethical rules” to govern the use of the technology.

America

CNN. Incumbent President Joe Biden and his predecessor Donald Trump have won enough delegates to become their respective party's presidential nominees for the White House in November.

NBC. With an overwhelming 352 votes in favor and 65 votes against, the US House of Representatives passed a bill forcing TikTok to divest from its Chinese owner or face being banned from operating in the US.

CBC. Canada and the United States have agreed to launch a joint investigation into a long-running cross-border dispute over pollution from British Columbia coal mines flowing into U.S. waters.

EURO NEWS. The EU is sending humanitarian aid worth 20 million euros ($21.8 million) to Haiti as the Caribbean nation descends into chaos due to gang violence.

OPEC. Venezuela's oil production rose in February, the third consecutive month of increases, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said.

UNICEF. Without change, the child poverty rate in Argentina could reach 70% in the first quarter of 2024, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has warned.

PRENSA LATINA. The Cuban Petroleum Alliance (Cupet) and the Chinese Great Wall Enterprise completed an 8,047-meter oil well in the northern western province of Matanzas.

KYODO. The US military is planning to resume operations of Osprey military transport aircraft in Japan as early as March 14, after lifting the flight ban on the Osprey last week.

INDIAN EXPRESS. India has approved a special provision for the issuance of Overseas Citizenship (OCI) cards to seventh-generation Mauritians of Indian origin, Indian President Droupadi Murmu announced in the capital Port Louis.

AP. Sudan's military has taken control of the headquarters of the country's state radio and television station from the paramilitary forces (RSF), a move that is considered a significant step forward in the 11-month conflict between the two sides.
