Tonight (October 31), the Halloween costume festival officially begins, but before that, many young people in Ho Chi Minh City have prepared unique costumes to go out early to have fun. According to Dan Tri reporters, on the evening of October 30, the atmosphere at Bui Vien Western Street became bustling, with people flocking to this place to have fun. Located in the center of District 1, Bui Vien Western Street is a familiar destination for tourists and young people in Ho Chi Minh City every Halloween. Not only eating and playing, here young people can also experience and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the biggest costume festival of the year. The most special is the traditional Chan dance performance mixed with a bit of Halloween horror. Chan is the villain, representing the evil side with a fierce face, wearing full body armor, and walking arrogantly. Influenced by Indian culture, the Khmer people of the South call Chan Yeak, a character symbolizing evil, bad things, specializing in bringing disaster to people. At night, the number of people flocking to Bui Vien Western Street increases. Some families take their children out before the holiday to avoid the crowds. Ahead of Halloween, restaurants and bars on Bui Vien Western Street decorate with many horror images during the "ghost festival" to attract customers. Labubu - an art toy character that is making waves among young people has also been caught up by restaurants and bars to decorate on Bui Vien Western street. Every corner of the bar is decorated spookily, in the true spirit of Halloween. Magical lights, pumpkins, skulls, walls covered with spider webs or hanging mannequins add to the spookiness. In front of alley 148, on the Western street Bui Vien, there are also meticulously and neatly decorated with creepy ghost effigies. Before that, around 5pm, restaurant and bar staff began carefully adjusting the decorations to welcome guests. Visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a magical festive atmosphere, with many activities that are both interesting and a bit spooky, typical of Halloween. Many foreign tourists come to Bui Vien Western Street to capture unique images decorated by restaurants and bars. "I didn't expect Halloween to be so grand here. I was really surprised and happy to come to Vietnam on this holiday," Liam shared. Originating from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, Halloween - also known as "ghost festival", "masquerade festival" - is a traditional festival held on October 31 every year, before All Saints' Day in Western Christianity. Although imported from abroad, Halloween is gradually becoming a popular festival for many Vietnamese people. Being interested and noticed like many other major holidays of the year, Halloween entertainment venues attract many people who love mysterious and ghostly spaces to visit.
