Reporting to the hotline of Tuoi Tre Online newspaper, Ms. Duong Thi Kha - director of Van Phuc Trading Company Limited (Ward 9, Tuy Hoa city , Phu Yen) - said that the company specializes in distributing consumer products so it needs to transport goods in large quantities.
Since 2021, some residents on Da Ban Street (Ward 9, Tuy Hoa City ) have protested against the company's trucks frequently entering and exiting, affecting their lives. After that, the city installed signs prohibiting trucks over 5 tons from entering, and residents installed height-restricting gates.
“Our company has made many appeals for help because the height limit of this gate is quite low, forcing us to use smaller vehicles of 1-3 tons to transport goods through, costing billions of dong each year,” Ms. Kha reflected.
Ms. Kha said the company is willing to dialogue with the people and commits to repairing the road if there is damage when the height restriction gate is raised to the correct technical height from 3m to 3.5m or removed.

According to the Urban Management Department of Tuy Hoa City , the issue that Van Phuc Trading Company Limited has reflected has been discussed and resolved by functional agencies and local authorities many times.
The above concrete road is about 154m long, and has been under construction since 2010 with state capital and people's contributions. To ensure traffic safety, the Urban Management Department previously proposed and was approved by the City People's Committee to install signs prohibiting loads greater than 5 tons from entering this road section.
The height-restricted gate is about 10m from the intersection of Nguyen Tat Thanh Street and Da Ban Street extending to the west, with a height of 3m from the ground, installed by the people on this street themselves.
In June 2023, Tuy Hoa City People's Committee sent a document to the Department of Planning and Investment of Phu Yen province. According to the provisions of Point b, Clause 2, Article 18 of Circular No. 46/2015/TT-BGTVT dated September 7, 2015 of the Ministry of Transport: Vehicles with a cargo weight of 2.5 tons to less than 5 tons (recorded in the vehicle's technical safety and environmental protection inspection certificate) must have a cargo height not exceeding 3.5m.
Therefore, the request to raise the gate height limit from 3m to 3.5m as proposed by Ms. Kha is in accordance with the regulations. The City People's Committee also directed Ward 9 to work with households in the above area to implement. However, up to now, the issue of raising the gate height limit has not been resolved.
Mr. Le Van Thoai - Chairman of Ward 9 People's Committee - said: "The ward will ask the staff to measure the height, if it is not exactly 3.5m, it will be raised according to regulations."
