In recent days, relevant units have been rushing to complete preparations for the inauguration ceremony and signboard installation of the city-level project: Construction of a road connecting Nguyen Van Cu Street to the end of the resettlement area of Ngoc Thuy Ward (Long Bien District, Hanoi).
The inauguration ceremony will be held tomorrow (October 5) in the area near the intersection of Ngoc Lam Street and the newly completed road.
The project is about 1.52km long, starting at the intersection with Nguyen Van Cu Street and ending at Ngoc Thuy Dike, with a total investment of about 1,200 billion VND.
The cross-section of the new road is 40m wide. The project also includes the construction of a flyover over Nguyen Van Cu Street, approximately 211m long.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Deputy Director of the Long Bien District Construction Investment Project Management Board said that to implement the project, land from about 485 households, individuals and organizations must be recovered, of which about 176 households will be resettled.
The project started construction in 2018 and was expected to be completed after 2 years. However, due to difficulties in site clearance and the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic, the project was delayed.
Up to now, the project items have been completed and are ready for the inauguration ceremony.
“The completed route creates a smooth traffic axis from Dong Tru bridge to Vinh Tuy bridge, Thanh Tri bridge, connecting with Hanoi - Hai Phong highway, contributing to completing the traffic network in the district” - Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung said.
Residents of Ngoc Thuy and Ngoc Lam wards (Long Bien) said they were very happy when the project was completed after many years of construction. Many people believe that this is the most beautiful road in Long Bien district at the present time.
“The new, spacious road will help us travel more conveniently and safely. The lives of people along the route will certainly have many positive changes,” said Mr. Vu Hai (Ngoc Lam, Long Bien).
