On the evening of September 15, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Lo Van Phieu - Chairman of the People's Committee of Pi Toong Commune (Muong La District) - confirmed that the locality had completed a temporary classroom in Na Tra village for 2 classes of preschool and primary school, with a total of 29 students.
According to Mr. Phieu, after prolonged heavy rains, in Na Tra village, Pi Toong commune, Muong La district, Son La, landslides occurred and cracks appeared on the floors of households, cultural houses and 2 classrooms at the separate locations of Pi Toong Kindergarten and Primary School.
Previously, on the evening of September 13, the People's Committee of Muong La district coordinated with local authorities to urgently move 22 households with 109 people in Na Tra village to temporary shelters, and transferred 8 households with 26 people to live in other households' houses safely.
"On September 14 and 15, officers and soldiers of the forces, together with local Party committees and authorities, set up temporary classrooms in a safe place to ensure the learning of students, about 60 square meters wide. Construction materials were from socialized sources, mainly bamboo, reed, tarpaulin and fiber cement" - Pi Toong commune leader informed.
