According to Deutsche Welle, a ghost train named "Zombie" caught fire at the Gallimarkt festival, a folk festival dating back to 1508 in the town of Leer, Niedersachsen state, northwestern Germany, injuring 11 people.
German police said at least four officers on duty suffered smoke inhalation and one suffered shock. Although the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not been announced, authorities have contained the fire and are currently coordinating the investigation.
Local officials had previously predicted that around half a million people would attend the carnival, which will be held on October 13 local time. The Gallimarkt used to be a cattle market and is still part of the fair today, attracting visitors with around 250 stalls around the central town during each festival.
