Vietnam Tourism 2024 has gone through more than half of its journey with many promotional activities that are considered vibrant and focused, aiming to revive the image so that Vietnamese tourism "is not forgotten" as industry leaders have been concerned about in recent times.
After a series of programs "bringing bells to strike foreign lands" in many countries such as Russia, Australia, China, Korea, Europe, etc., Vietnamese tourism will continue to accelerate, reaching the finish line with international tourist markets that still have much room for growth.
Promoting tourism combined with cinema in the US
At a recent conference on tourism promotion, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong suggested that the entire industry should pay attention to some key markets such as the US. Because Vietnam and the US have recently upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership, according to the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourism must also be upgraded.
Deputy Minister Ho An Phong assessed that American tourists are long-term spenders, love exploring the beauty of nature, love Vietnamese culture and people... which is a great potential for the country's smokeless industry.
In the series of promotional activities of the industry this year, according to the Deputy Minister, one of the highlights will be the tourism promotion program combined with cinema, scheduled to be held in Los Angeles, USA in the third quarter with the name "Vietnam Expo in Hollywood."

Activities include: Exhibition on Vietnamese cinema and tourism; Program to introduce the potential of the cinema scene and policies for international cinema activities in Vietnam. This will be a promotional activity to create an impression for promotional activities in 2024, and at the same time connect filmmakers who can sign with Vietnam and make films in Vietnam.
The event is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, implemented by Indochina Productions (USA), co-organized by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and Oxalis Adventure. Mr. Chau A revealed that the estimated cost of organizing a 1-day Expo is about 10 billion VND (not including the cost of designing and installing booths). This is a 100% socialized source of funding. Accordingly, there will be about 200 producers and film directors invited to participate, such as: director of the film "Kong: Skull Island" - Jordan Vogt-Roberts, film producer and production director Eric Mcleod, along with Hollywood stars, producers such as Amazon, Netflix ...

With favorable visa and immigration policies in place, creating a great driving force to attract international tourists, the leader of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism assessed that the international tourist market still has a lot of room for growth. Along with a series of active promotional activities that will be implemented from now until the end of the year, the whole industry can achieve the target of welcoming 17-18 million foreign visitors this year as planned.
Accordingly, in the last months of the year, the tourism industry will focus on developing important state management documents and projects, including: the project to establish a Vietnam Tourism Promotion Office in Laos; the project to establish a Vietnam Tourism Promotion Office abroad; focusing on implementing the Tourism System Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2045 after the Prime Minister has approved it.
In addition, the tourism industry will coordinate with Quang Nam province to host the UN Tourism International Conference on Rural Tourism; Organize a conference to review the implementation of the 2017 Tourism Law and Resolution 08-NQ/TW on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector; Advise on organizing the meeting of the State Steering Committee on Tourism in 2024.
Regarding promotion, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will coordinate to organize the High-level Forum within the framework of the ITE HCMC Fair 2024; Coordinate to attend international fairs (ASEAN-China, WTM 2024 in the UK, CITM China 2024); Coordinate to organize programs to introduce Vietnamese tourism in ASEAN, China, India, Australia markets; Tourism - Cinema promotion program in the United States; Advise on appointing Tourism Ambassadors in some key markets; Organize to welcome FAM delegations from markets such as China, Taiwan (China), Korea, Japan, ASEAN, Australia, Europe, America, India...

In the process of implementing these activities, the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will need to promote its role in guiding, leading and coordinating; tourism management departments, tourism promotion information centers, associations and businesses will actively participate and respond, ensuring practical and effective benefits for all parties.
“Tourism promotion and advertising activities are a constant flow. Therefore, these activities need to be carried out persistently, continuously, regularly and impressively so that the brand and image of Vietnamese tourism will not be forgotten,” Deputy Minister Ho An Phong emphasized.
