"Currently, the Department of Construction has coordinated with the People's Committee of District 8 to conduct a field survey at the Diamond Riverside apartment building after the shaking occurred due to the impact of the earthquake from Myanmar," said a representative of the Department of Construction.
According to the representative of the Department of Construction, the survey and working process with the Management Board of Diamon Riverside Apartment, the Investor and local authorities showed that the recorded cracks and peeling had different depths and lengths.
According to the Investor's representative, the structure of the project is designed according to construction standards, ensuring sufficient load-bearing capacity. At the same time, the project has been inspected and approved for acceptance by the State Appraisal Department of Construction Quality.
"Regarding the direction of handling cracked walls, peeling hallway tiles... we will ask the investor to take timely remedial measures to ensure the safety of residents and will continue to update information until there is an official conclusion and hope that people can feel secure in ensuring the safety of their residence," the representative of the Department of Construction added.
According to the representative of the Department of Construction, apart from the case of Diamon Riverside Apartment in District 8, up to now, Ho Chi Minh City has not received any other reports of similar problems, only information pages about some buildings where people inside ran out when there were aftershocks.
Previously, VTC News reported that at around 1:20 p.m. on March 28 (Vietnam time), a 7.3-magnitude earthquake occurred in Myanmar, causing tremors in many places in Vietnam.
In central districts of Ho Chi Minh City such as District 1, District 7, District 3, Binh Thanh District, office workers panicked and took to the streets to "take refuge".
In Hanoi, many people living and working in apartment buildings in Thanh Xuan, Ha Dong, Hai Ba Trung, Hoang Mai districts... clearly felt the shaking, their houses and objects shook strongly.
