The above content was stated by Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son at the plenary session of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education.
The Minister said that after the 4th Session of the 15th National Assembly, the Government directed ministries and branches to consider specific plans to increase allowances for teachers.
"The Ministry of Education and Training has worked with the Ministry of Home Affairs many times and within the possible conditions, the two sides agreed to increase the preferential allowance for preschool teachers by 10% and for primary school teachers by 5%. Currently, the plan is waiting for the Ministry of Finance's opinion," Mr. Son shared.
The Commander of the Education sector hopes that delegates will support the National Assembly forum so that teachers can be increased as proposed above, ensuring the number of people working in educational institutions.
Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son shared at the meeting.
Regarding the shortcomings in implementing Decree 116 on tuition and living expenses support for teacher training students, the Minister said that the Ministry of Education and Training is urgently developing a revised Decree 116 to meet the requirements for teacher training and overcome shortcomings in training orders.
In addition, Minister Son also hopes that the National Assembly's supervision report on the implementation of innovation in general education programs and textbooks will comprehensively recognize and evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the implementation process.
He analyzed that in the first years of implementation, the entire education sector had to try 2-3 times harder to both respond to the epidemic, ensure to avoid disruption of educational activities, and implement innovation with great goals and expectations.
In the coming time, the education sector will evaluate the 3-year implementation of the 2018 General Education Program; organize the high school graduation exam and university entrance exam in 2023; prepare enough textbooks for the new school year, appraise textbooks for grades 5, 9, and 12; develop a new preschool education program; summarize 10 years of implementing Resolution 29... Therefore, Minister Nguyen Kim Son hopes that National Assembly delegates will continue to support and share with the sector.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education Nguyen Dac Vinh assessed: Ministries and sectors have made great efforts and have seen positive and clear movements in all fields. The education sector has implemented innovation in general education programs and textbooks in very difficult epidemic conditions but has adapted.
