According to the pre-feasibility study report, the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong Railway Project through Hai Duong is 40.96 km long. Of which, the section through Tu Ky district is the longest at 10.95 km, followed by the section through Gia Loc at 10.5 km, through Binh Giang district at 8.6 km, Thanh Ha district at 7.86 km. The shortest is through Cam Giang district at 3.05 km.
18 communes and towns of Hai Duong have railway lines running through them: Luong Dien, Phuc Dien communes (Cam Giang); Vinh Hung, Hung Thang, Vinh Hong, Tan Viet, Long Xuyen (Binh Giang); Yet Kieu, Gia Loc town, Gia Phuc, Hoang Dieu (Gia Loc); Ky Son, Hung Dao, Quang Phuc, Binh Lang, Chi Minh (Tu Ky); Thanh Hong, Vinh Cuong (Thanh Ha).
The project is expected to use more than 187.8 hectares of land, including 14.9 hectares of rural residential land, 128.6 hectares of rice land, nearly 3 hectares of annual crop land, 7.7 hectares of perennial crop land, 9.1 hectares of aquaculture land, 4.6 hectares of production and business land, 19.8 hectares of other land... Of which, Tu Ky district uses 49.1 hectares, Gia Loc 44.3 hectares, Binh Giang 42.5 hectares, Thanh Ha 34.9 hectares and Cam Giang 17.1 hectares.
The whole province has 498 households with 2,836 people whose land was recovered under the project and need resettlement.
The total cost of compensation for site clearance through Hai Duong is estimated at more than 3,893 billion VND.
