World coffee prices hit record high
On the London floor, at 4:00 p.m. on January 31, 2025, the price of Robusta coffee continued to increase sharply and showed no signs of stopping, increasing from 109 - 126 USD/ton, fluctuating from 5,524 - 5,734 USD/ton. Specifically, the delivery price for March 2025 is 5,734 USD/ton (up 125 USD/ton), the delivery price for May 2025 is 5,709 USD/ton (up 126 USD/ton), the delivery price for July 2025 is 5,625 USD/ton (up 114 USD/ton) and September 2025 is 5,524 USD/ton (up 109 USD/ton).

Arabica coffee prices on the New York floor continued to increase sharply compared to the previous day's price, updated as follows: March 2025 delivery period is 373.40 cents/lb (up 6.85 cents/lb), May 2025 delivery period is 368.15 cents/lb (up 6.80 cents/lb), July 2025 delivery period is 361.30 cents/lb (up 6.85 cents/lb) and September 2025 delivery period is 351/70 cents/lb (up 6.55 cents/lb).
At the end of the trading session, the price of Arabica coffee from Brazil recorded mixed increases and decreases depending on the delivery period, specifically: The delivery period in March 2025 was 457.50 USD/ton (down 0.10 USD/ton), the delivery period in May 2025 was 455.10 USD/ton (up 1.65 USD/ton), the delivery period in July 2025 was 453.45 USD/ton (up 9.05 USD/ton) and the delivery period in September 2025 was 434.45 USD/ton (down 0.25 USD/ton).
Domestic coffee prices increase and set new peaks
According to information from Giacaphe.com, at 4:00 p.m. today, January 31, 2025 (the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year), domestic coffee prices continued to increase, setting a new record and currently at an average of 128,900 VND/kg, an increase of 1,200 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

The highest coffee purchase price in key regions of the Central Highlands was recorded at 129,000 VND/kg. Specifically, today's coffee price in Dak Lak was 128,800 VND/kg (up 1,200 VND/kg), in Lam Dong was 127,800 VND/kg (up 1,000 VND/kg), in Gia Lai was 128,800 VND/kg (up 1,300 VND/kg), in Dak Nong was 129,000 VND/kg (up 1,200 VND/kg) and in Kon Tum today was recorded at 128,300 VND/kg (up 1,100 VND/kg).
The domestic coffee prices that Giacaphe.com lists every day are calculated based on the prices of two world coffee exchanges combined with continuous surveys from businesses and purchasing agents in key coffee growing areas across the country.

Brazil suffered a severe drought last year, leading to a shortage of coffee. As a country that produces nearly half of the world's arabica coffee, the decline has reduced forecasts for the upcoming crop.
Certified arabica inventories have reportedly fallen sharply in recent days, down nearly 100,000 bags to around 900,000 bags, suggesting that pressure on the arabica market is mounting.
Robusta is also in short supply, a substitute for arabica in some cases, although it is more commonly used in instant coffee. In Vietnam, the world’s largest producer of robusta, farmers are holding back their stocks in anticipation of higher prices. Trade and shipping activity slowed significantly in late January and early February 2025 as the Lunar New Year holiday was not over.
Experts predict that domestic coffee prices on February 1, 2025 (the 4th day of Tet) will continue to remain very high, with the possibility of reaching a new record of VND 130,000/kg.
