With the advantage of convenient transportation and relatively synchronous infrastructure, Thanh Hoa is currently a destination chosen by many MICE (tourism combined with conferences and seminars) visitors. Anticipating the "peak season" of MICE tourism, tourism service businesses have basically completed the renovation and launched many attractive incentive programs to the market.
At the end of the year, the number of MICE visitors to Thanh Hoa mainly concentrates on coastal tourist areas and Thanh Hoa City. For 3-5 star tourist accommodation establishments in the province, they have basically completed programs dedicated to MICE guests. In Sam Son City, a number of hotels have completed the renovation of conference rooms, invested in additional sound and lighting equipment, etc., ready to welcome guests during the "peak season" of MICE tourism at the end of the year. In particular, Bien Nho Premium Resort & Spa has launched a program for MICE guests "Professional Conference - The foundation for success". With 2 conference rooms for 500 guests and 150 guests, along with many convenient services, Bien Nho Premium Resort & Spa will apply a 15% discount on conference rooms and sound and lighting; for MICE guests using accommodation and catering services, there will be a 50% discount on conference rooms and a 30% discount on all accommodation room categories.
Deputy Director of Bien Nho Premium Resort & Spa, Tran Thi Nhung, said: “To anticipate MICE tourism, we have quickly completed the arrangement of suitable spaces and launched a promotional program from mid-September. In addition, to attract MICE guests at the end of the year, along with conferences and seminars, we also provide health care services such as Korean Jim Jil Bang sauna and high-end intensive therapy, Jacuzzi, massage therapy... Thereby improving service quality, contributing to raising the level of MICE tourism”.
According to the assessment of travel agencies, Thanh Hoa tourism has great advantages to attract MICE visitors. However, in 2024, the economic situation will face many difficulties, the number of MICE visitors may decrease by 10 - 15% compared to 2023. Therefore, MICE service providers need to flexibly adjust prices, along with developing additional accompanying services, linking with travel businesses to promote the low-season tourism stimulus program.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province currently has about 1,300 accommodation establishments, 235 condotels, 800 villas and 1,000 restaurants. Along with a convenient transportation system, this is considered a competitive advantage of Thanh Hoa compared to other localities in the region, creating an attraction for MICE visitors in the last months of the year. In addition, Thanh Hoa province has been focusing resources, completing tourism infrastructure and attracting investment in many resort, health care, sports, entertainment projects of regional and international standards... Hopefully, these will be important bases to continue the development of MICE tourism products in Thanh Hoa in the coming time.
