Of which, the victory over the Hong Kong team (ranked 147th in the world) was added 3.4 points and the victory over the Syrian team (ranked 90th in the world) was added 5.13 points.

With the new score, the Vietnamese team still maintains the 95th position in the world on the FIFA rankings announced on July 20. However, in the Asian region, coach Philippe Troussier's team will return to 15th position after a period of falling to 16th.
In Southeast Asia, the Vietnamese team continues to maintain its almost absolute No. 1 position. Because the team ranked right behind, the Thai team, also played 2 friendly matches (tied with the Taiwanese team 2-2 and won the Hong Kong team 1-0), it only added 2.5 points, moving up 1 place to 113th in the world and still ranked 21st in Asia.
Malaysia climbed two places thanks to two wins over weak opponents including Solomon Islands 4-1 and Papua New Guinea 10-0, gaining 9.4 points to 136th in the world and 24th in Asia. However, they are still behind the Philippines (who beat Nepal 1-0 and lost to Taiwan 2-3), ranked 135th in the world and 23rd in Asia, and 3rd in Southeast Asia. Indonesia drew 0-0 with Palestine and lost 0-2 to Argentina, dropping to 150th in the world and 28th in Asia.
After winning the Syrian team, the Vietnamese team also closed in on their opponent's position on the FIFA rankings.
In the upcoming FIFA rankings for July, with the Vietnam team still maintaining the 95th position in the world, but with an increased cumulative score (1,238.22 points), it is also approaching the Syria team (currently with 1,241.6 points). During the FIFA Days in September, the Vietnam team is expected to play a friendly match with the Palestine team and another unconfirmed team. If it continues its current progress, it will further improve its position on the FIFA rankings.
