V.League top scorer rankings: Surprised by Tien Linh and Xuan Son

VTC NewsVTC News20/02/2025

The biggest surprise in the V.League 2024-2025 top scorer rankings after the first 13 rounds is the leading position. Not a foreign player, but Nguyen Tien Linh is the player who has scored the most goals this season so far.

The Binh Duong club striker has 9 goals after 13 appearances. Notably, only 2 of these were penalties. Up to 4 of Tien Linh's goals were opening the score of the match.

Nguyen Tien Linh leads the V.League scoring list.

The next surprise is at number 2. There are 3 players who have scored 7 goals: Leo Artur (Hanoi Police Club), Lucao (Hai Phong) and Nguyen Xuan Son (Nam Dinh). Notably, Xuan Son has been injured since the AFF Cup 2024 final until now, missing 4 matches of Nam Dinh Club since the beginning of 2025.

Previously, in the early stages of the season, Xuan Son also missed 3 rounds. The reason was that this striker was registered as a naturalized player but at that time he had not completed the procedures to officially become a Vietnamese citizen.

Although he only played 6 matches in the first leg of V.League 2024-2025, Xuan Son still scored 7 goals. The achievement of the striker born in 1997 is only inferior to Tien Linh.
