High-level diplomacy

The State visit of General Secretary To Lam to Indonesia and the official visit to Singapore, from March 9-13, achieved all the set goals at a high level . The visit was of historical significance as Vietnam simultaneously upgraded relations with Indonesia and Singapore in ASEAN, deepening Vietnam's cooperation with the two countries, contributing more effectively to the common house of ASEAN. During the 5 days, the General Secretary had more than 40 activities with meetings, talks, meetings, exchanges with various circles , policy statements, meetings with the Vietnamese community in the two countries and visiting a number of economic and cultural establishments...

On March 14, General Secretary To Lam received Mr. Nate Franklin, founder and Chairman of Pacifico Energy (PE) Group, USA . The General Secretary affirmed that the US is one of Vietnam's leading important economic partners, and the framework of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is creating new space and opportunities for US businesses to invest and do business in Vietnam.

On March 17, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong received the Ambassadors of Greece, Colombia, Panama and 6 concurrent Ambassadors who came to present their credentials to assume their duties in Vietnam.

On March 13, working with leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on foreign affairs in the coming time , President Luong Cuong welcomed and highly appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies in proactively and effectively implementing foreign affairs activities...

On March 15, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Professor Thomas Vallely, Senior Advisor on Vietnam at the Weatherhead East Asia Institute (WEAI) , Columbia University (USA) - one of the leading universities and educational institutions in the United States.

Receiving Mr. Wouter Van Wersch, Global Executive Vice President of Airbus Group - the world's leading aircraft manufacturing group on March 14, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam is developing its aviation economy, expanding international routes; and asked Airbus to invest, participate and support the development of the ecosystem of Vietnam's aviation industry .

On March 13, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper to discuss priority areas to promote bilateral cooperation on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations.

Receiving French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet and Mr. Erkki Maillard, Director of International and Government Affairs, Advisor to the President of the French Electricity Group (EDF) on March 12, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that EDF expand investment and convert to green and clean energy in Vietnam; at the same time, support Vietnamese partners in developing nuclear power projects. On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Ms. Nicola Beer, Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) , along with senior leaders of the EIB and Brosnan Norden Group (Germany); Mr. Nate Franklin, President of Pacifico Energy Group (PE) - a leading energy group in the United States.

On March 13, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance . The National Assembly Chairman assessed that the Vietnam-Japan relationship has had increasingly substantive and effective developments.


Activities of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son gave an interview about the State visit to Indonesia, the official visit to the ASEAN Secretariat, and the official visit to Singapore by General Secretary To Lam and his wife along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

Speaking at the conference “Meeting 2025: Lao Cai - Center for connecting economic trade between Vietnam and ASEAN countries with Southwest China: Opportunities for businesses and investors” on March 14 in Lao Cai city, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that Lao Cai plays an important role in the strategy of connecting trade between Vietnam, ASEAN and China, and is an economic center on the Kunming - Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh corridor.


Bilateral diplomacy

Receiving Airbus Group International Executive Vice President Wouter Van Wersch on March 14, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu affirmed that economic cooperation is an important pillar in the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the UK, Germany, France and Spain; and requested Airbus to continue to actively promote economic cooperation between Vietnam and the European Union (EU) and EU member countries.

On March 11, at Harvard University, Massachusetts, USA, the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN), New York, in collaboration with the Vietnam Film Promotion and Development Association (VFDA) and the Boston Global Forum (BGF), organized the Seminar "Cooperation in developing Vietnam-US cinema in the context of artificial intelligence and digital revolution" . This is an event in a series of diplomatic and cultural activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations (1995-2025).

Receiving Deputy Governor of Kaluga Province (Russia) VV Potemkin on March 12, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang thanked the provincial government for creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest and achieve initial success in the locality and affirmed that Vietnam is ready to create favorable conditions for Kaluga enterprises to invest and do business in Vietnam.

On March 13, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet had a meeting with Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Farani . The two sides discussed preparations for the upcoming official visit to Vietnam by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

On March 11, the Governor of the second largest city in Russia, Saint Petersburg, Aleksandr Beglov, signed a decree to name a square in the north of the city “Ho Chi Minh” . Thus, in Saint Petersburg, from now on, there will be a complex named after the first President of Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh Street, Ho Chi Minh Square and Ho Chi Minh Monument.

On the occasion of General Secretary To Lam and his wife's State visit to Indonesia from March 9-11, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Ta Van Thong shared the significance of the visit ahead of the two countries' 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Denny Abdi expressed his hope for a new level of bilateral relations.

On the occasion of General Secretary To Lam and his wife's official visit to Singapore, Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh shared with TG&VN about the importance of the visit and expectations for new areas of cooperation between the two countries. According to Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam , the visit will continue to write a "history" of cooperation in a new era of bilateral relations.


Multilateral diplomacy

From March 10-14, the 68th Conference of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) took place in Austria, attracting the attention and participation of more than 2,000 delegates from 100 UN member states, international organizations and non-governmental organizations. At the Conference, Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang, Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Group, affirmed the importance of multilateral cooperation in drug prevention and control on the basis of compliance with the UN Charter, international law and respect for national sovereignty. Previously, on March 10, Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang visited and worked with the International Development Fund of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC Fund) on the occasion of his appointment as Ambassador and Chief Representative of Vietnam to international organizations in Austria.


Other activities

On March 12, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang granted a license to reopen a permanent office in Vietnam to the Financial Times (UK).

On March 11, Editor-in-Chief of The Gioi va Viet Nam Newspaper Nguyen Truong Son received Deputy Director of the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Yogendra Trihan to discuss the World Audio-Visual & Entertainment Summit 2025 (WAVES 2025).
