After more than 10 years of opening a carpentry workshop, realizing the increasing demand for carving wooden patterns, in early 2023, Mr. Le Van Quy opened a wood carving workshop with an area of about 60m2. He invested nearly 400 million VND to buy CNC machines, grinders, vacuum cleaners, etc.
After opening the workshop, along with creating patterns for altars, tables, and chairs in the carpentry workshop, Mr. Quy began to research and make 3D wood paintings. The wood paintings in his workshop are mainly made from garden woods such as jackfruit, rosewood, etc.
According to him, to have a good painting, you have to choose good wood, which is flexible, does not crack, does not warp, and is not susceptible to termites. During the dry season, he buys wood from gardeners in Nong Son and Phuoc Son districts for storage.
Each wooden painting costs from 2.2 million VND or more depending on the wood material and size. On average, Mr. Quy's 3D wooden painting workshop has a monthly revenue of 90-120 million VND.
Currently, his business creates jobs for 4-5 workers with a stable income of 350-400 thousand VND/person/day. In addition, his carpentry workshop is also operating stably, earning a monthly profit of about 20 million VND.
In 2023, Mr. Quy's facility received 120 million VND from the Nong Son district government from the industrial promotion program to buy CNC machines.
According to Mr. Quy, since applying advanced machinery and equipment to woodworking production, the facility has been able to process highly complex details, small details with high precision, stable product quality, improved competitiveness, and reduced product costs.
To promote products, expand and connect the market, Mr. Quy set up a website for the facility, and at the same time introduced his products on social networks such as Facebook, Zalo, and TikTok. Gradually, his wooden paintings became known to customers, were accepted, and introduced more people to order.
"Always aware that only reputation can last over time, so we strive to build and protect reputation in the hearts of each customer" - Mr. Quy said.
Mr. Phan Thanh Thanh - Chairman of Que Lam Commune People's Committee said that in 2024, the 3D wooden painting products of Le Van Quy business establishment were recognized by Nong Son District People's Committee as meeting 3-star OCOP standards.
"Not only does it help develop carpentry and fine arts, and create jobs for a segment of the youth, but recently Mr. Quy's facility has also contributed to helping the locality complete the 19 criteria, bringing Que Lam to the new rural commune standard this year," said Mr. Thanh.
