Businesses "hunt" for workers after Tet

Starting production and business in the first months of 2025 with many positive signals about orders, enterprises in Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks (IZs) of Thanh Hoa province are urgently recruiting more workers to organize effective production and successfully achieve growth targets.

In the Nghi Son Economic Zone, many enterprises have a need to recruit large numbers of workers, typically Nghi Son Iron and Steel Corporation recruiting 779 workers; Annora Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. recruiting 680 workers; Huthaco Construction and Trading Services Co., Ltd. recruiting 684 workers... In particular, many enterprises in Nghi Son are recruiting specialized and highly technical positions, typically: Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Co., Ltd.; Northern Vietnam Vegetable Oil Co., Ltd.; Nghi Son 2 Electricity Co., Ltd.... This is an opportunity for highly qualified and professional workers in the province to have stable jobs with commensurate income.

At Bim Son Industrial Park and other industrial parks in Thanh Hoa City, many enterprises are also promoting labor attraction right from the beginning of the year. Enterprises hang recruitment banners in many areas, post bulletins at the enterprise gate, post information on the company's fanpage, worker groups on social networks, even participate in job exchanges or mobilize referrals from employees in the enterprise. However, the supply is still not enough.

Sakurai Vietnam Co., Ltd. has two factories in Le Mon Industrial Park (Thanh Hoa City) and Hoang Hoa District, with more than 12,000 workers. Right after the Tet holiday, the company needs to recruit more than 1,000 workers to boost production and meet orders for partners. At Sakurai Hoang Hoa, the company posted a recruitment request for 450 workers, with incomes ranging from 6.5 to 16 million VND depending on the job positions. According to the Chairman of the Trade Union of Sakurai Vietnam Co., Ltd. Nguyen Huu Quang, "With positive signals about orders this year, workers will be guaranteed jobs and income during the year. Recruited workers will enjoy attractive salary regimes, fully participate in social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance according to State regulations; work in a professional, creative environment and have opportunities for advancement in the company".

Rollsport Vietnam Shoes Co., Ltd. (Hoang Long Industrial Park) currently has more than 20,700 employees. In order to meet production needs with an output of about 28 million pairs in 2025, an increase of 7-8% over the same period, the company also plans to recruit about 2,000 employees. Chairman of the Trade Union of Rollsport Shoes Co., Ltd. Nguyen Van Ty said: This year's orders have many positive signs. The company is currently in need of recruiting more than 2,000 employees to ensure the production target of more than 28 million pairs of shoes, an increase of 7-8% over the same period. In addition to general labor, the company also needs to recruit 200 positions requiring high professional and technical qualifications.

“Along with recruiting new workers, to improve the welfare and living conditions of workers, we are making efforts to implement the contents of the collective labor agreement of the shoe manufacturing group. The company has spent 3 billion VND as lucky money for workers on the first day they return to work at the factory; at the same time, we have established a loyalty bonus for workers who have worked at the factory for 11 years or more; we have ensured annual leave and established a regulation for periodically reviewing salary increases for workers, helping workers feel secure in their jobs,” said Mr. Ty.

Currently, the Industrial Zones and Industrial Parks have more than 100,000 workers participating in production. The contribution of workers has helped enterprises generate revenue in 2024 reaching VND 281,000 billion, export turnover of USD 3.1 billion. Although production and business activities are still facing difficulties, enterprises are still interested in ensuring benefits and Tet bonuses for employees with an average Tet bonus of about 1 month's salary.

According to statistics from the Management Board of the Economic Zone and Industrial Parks, the unit's review shows that enterprises are in need of more than 18,700 workers. Of which, foreign-invested enterprises need to recruit 16,284 workers; domestic-invested enterprises need to recruit 2,435 workers. Specifically, enterprises in the Economic Zone need to recruit 3,318 workers; industrial parks in Thanh Hoa city need to recruit 10,778 workers; enterprises in Bim Son Industrial Park need to recruit 4,623 workers. Some enterprises have a very large demand for labor recruitment such as: Leading Star Vietnam Garment Company Limited (Bim Son Industrial Park) needs to recruit 2,000 workers; Aleron Vietnam Footwear Company Limited needs to recruit 2,000 workers; SunJade Vietnam Footwear Company Limited needs to recruit 1,880 workers...

Chairman of the Trade Union of the Industrial Zones and Industrial Parks Ngo The Anh shared: “The production and business activities of enterprises are forecasted to continue to grow positively. Many enterprises have signed large orders, ensuring jobs and stable income for workers, especially enterprises in the textile, garment and footwear industries. From the beginning of 2025, enterprises in the Industrial Zones and Industrial Parks have proactively developed specific business plans and strategies associated with proactive human resources to successfully implement production plans.”

According to the Management Board of Industrial Zones and Industrial Parks, in general, the demand for labor recruitment in 2025 will increase compared to previous years, but mainly the recruitment of unskilled and untrained laborers accounts for a large number, with 16,182 people/18,719 people, accounting for about 86.4%. The number of jobs created is large but mainly for simple technical labor such as garment and leather shoes. Meanwhile, the recruitment rate of laborers with professional qualifications, work experience and foreign language requirements is quite low, but still causes difficulties for enterprises because the laborers do not meet the recruitment requirements of enterprises.
