The survey collected opinions from more than one hundred member businesses, conducted from February 4 to 11, 2025.
According to the survey results, businesses participating in the survey continue to trust Vietnam.
Despite general concerns, 94% of surveyed businesses, including 98% of manufacturing businesses, believe Vietnam is a good place to do business, thanks to its growing infrastructure, skilled workforce and strategic location.
"Strong trade relations between the US and Vietnam benefit both countries," said Travis Mitchell, executive director of AmCham Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City, adding that he believes that open communication and cooperative efforts are essential factors in maintaining a strong relationship between the two countries.
Survey results show that there is certain concern among US businesses operating in Vietnam about the tariff issue.
About 81% of survey respondents expressed concern about the possibility of tariffs, especially in the manufacturing industry (this rate reached 92%).
Businesses calculate that costs could increase as tariffs disrupt supply chains and force them to adjust operations.
A manufacturing company participating in the survey said that its goods are exported to the US and if costs increase, it could affect its competitiveness.
Vietnam is considered a country that has made many efforts to participate and play an important role in the global supply chain. Diversifying export markets has been considered by businesses to maintain initiative in the production and business process.
According to the General Department of Customs, the total value of import and export of goods nationwide in January 2025 is estimated at nearly 63.3 billion USD, down 10.3% compared to December 2024.
Of which, export value reached about 33.19 billion USD, down 6.6%.
For FDI enterprises, import-export value in the month reached 42.6 billion USD, down 6.8%.
