Vietnam delegation won two bronze medals

2023 ASIAD champion Pham Quang Huy just won the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol team event at the 2023 Asian Shooting Championship.

In the men's 10m air pistol team event, 2023 ASIAD champion Pham Quang Huy and teammates Lai Cong Minh and Phan Cong Minh won the bronze medal with a total score of 1,736.

The gold medal went to the Chinese team with a total score of 1,750, and the silver medal went to the Korean team with a total score of 1,746.

Unfortunately, in the men's 10m air pistol individual competition, Pham Quang Huy only ranked 9th and could not make it into the list of best athletes entering the finals.

This means that the 2023 ASIAD champion cannot qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Quang Huy scored a total of 581 points, his teammates Lai Cong Minh and Phan Cong Minh scored 578 and 577 points respectively, and all three did not have enough points to enter the individual final.

Meanwhile, in the women's 10m air pistol event, Trinh Thu Vinh scored 581 points and finished 5th, thereby qualifying for the finals.

In the final, Thu Vinh scored 219.7 points, finishing in third place with a bronze medal. The champion in the shooting category was Korean shooter Oh Ye Jin (244.1 points) and second place was Jiang Ranxin (China, with 241.8 points).

Notably, Thu Vinh is currently the only Vietnamese shooter to have won a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
