Creative aspirations of young artists in Hai Duong

Promising young faces

“As the years go by, everyone has to pay the price for their maturity. That price cannot be measured by price, nor can anyone know how much foolishness and naivety has been measured.” These are the most heartfelt words written by young author Huy Hai in the short story collection "Knowing There Will Be Yesterday". With a gentle and profound writing style, author Huy Hai leads readers through different levels, thereby reminding readers to cherish yesterday, live fully for today and strive to create a bright tomorrow.

Young author Huy Hai is a "new breeze" of Hai Duong literature.

Mr. Huy Hai's real name is Pham Dinh Thang, born in 1994, from Binh Giang district, is one of the outstanding young authors of Hai Duong literature.

Since his junior high school days, he often went to the library to read newspapers and borrow books, practice writing, and participate in writing the class newspaper. From then on, the literary talent permeated the young man. Up to now, he has published 5 books such as "Finding Each Other in the City", "Knowing There Will Be Yesterday" (short story collection), "Talking Eyes" (children's novel)... In addition, there are a number of manuscripts waiting to be printed and completed.

Most of his works are written for young adults, so the themes often revolve around friendship, love and family. His inspiration comes from stories he has seen, heard or his own stories.

Wishing to meet and learn more experiences from previous generations, along with his love of literature, he joined the Provincial Youth Literature and Arts Club.

Also a member of the Provincial Youth Literature and Arts Club, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien (born in 1986, in Hai Duong City) has a passion for photography. He is currently the youngest member of the Photography Board, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association and a member of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

Photographer Nguyen Manh Hien is the youngest member of the Photography Board, Literature and Arts Association of Hai Duong province.

As a young generation with the advantage of technology, Mr. Hien has new and creative perspectives when participating in photography. Mr. Hien said that in Hai Duong, there are mainly relics and traditional festivals that have been captured by many veteran photographers. Therefore, he needs to have more novel compositions and shooting angles.

Many of his works use flycam to capture Hai Duong City from above, recording the changes and development of Thanh Dong land. Up to now, Manh Hien's photos have participated in many art and news photography exhibitions at provincial, national and international levels.

Not only Huy Hai and Manh Hien, the Huong Hoang Lan writing group in Cam Giang, founded by teacher Tran Thuy Linh, is also a bright spot in the youth literature movement in Hai Duong. The group gathers students who love writing, and under the dedicated guidance of teacher Linh, has produced many quality works, published in local newspapers and literary magazines, contributing to igniting the love of literature for students in Cam Giang.

Playground for young people with passion for creativity

In order to create conditions for young artists to develop their abilities, on June 7, 2024, the Hai Duong Provincial Literature and Arts Association launched the Young Literature and Arts Club, marking an important step forward in creating an environment for young souls who love creativity. With 31 members working in many fields such as literature, poetry, music, fine arts and photography, the club has become a place to exchange, learn and develop talents.

The Executive Board of Hai Duong Province Youth Literature and Arts Club was launched.

This is also a place to promote the creativity of those who love literature and art, and at the same time discover young authors with creative talent, focusing on students to nurture.

In recent times, to promote the creativity of young artists, the Hai Duong Literature and Arts Association has implemented many practical activities. The Association organizes creative camps, field trips, and exchange experiences in localities, border areas, and islands, helping young members stay close to real life, collect materials, and develop creative skills. These activities not only encourage creativity but also contribute to discovering and nurturing new talents, preparing the next generation for the Provincial Literature and Arts Association.

Sharing about the innovation and creativity of the young generation of artists, Vice Chairman of the Hai Duong Province Literature and Arts Association Dinh Ngoc Hung commented: "Young artists are not only enthusiastic about creating but also proactively participating in regional, provincial, national and international competitions, exhibitions and festivals. They have the ability to create knowledge and quickly access modern technology, meeting the requirements of modern literature and art, serving the tastes of the public."

With the support from organizations and the desire to create, young artists in Hai Duong are gradually asserting themselves, actively contributing to the development of local literature and art. They are potential seeds, promising to bring a bountiful harvest to the literature and art of the Eastern region.
