On February 28, a post appeared on Facebook by an account named Van Trang, accusing restaurant 100 Huy Hanh (address 84 Le Thanh Tong Street, Pha Lai Ward, Chi Linh City, Hai Duong) of "ripping off" customers when they come here to eat and drink.
According to the article, on February 27, a group of 17 tourists from Ha Long City, Quang Ninh entered the restaurant at 100 Huy Hanh for lunch. Before eating, they forgot to ask the price because they thought that eating a normal meal was not as expensive as eating seafood. At the same time, the menu at the restaurant did not have a listed price.
The group of guests said that the shrimp looked like giant freshwater prawns but were only as small as a child's little finger. The snail and banana dish only had snails and bananas, no beans. The catfish soup was no different from frozen catfish and undercooked. The chicken dish was ordered for 1 chicken but when it was brought out it only fit on a small plate...
According to the bill, the restaurant charged 900,000 VND for 3 plates of shrimp paste, 900,000 VND for 3 plates of fried goby fish, 900,000 VND for 3 plates of stir-fried buffalo, 1,050,000 VND for 3 plates of fried chicken, 1,200,000 VND for 3 bowls of catfish soup, 750,000 VND for 3 plates of stir-fried snails with banana and bean curd, and 150,000 VND for rice. The total bill was 5,850,000 VND for 17 people.
Speaking with PV. VietNamNet , the leader of the People's Committee of Chi Linh City said that he had issued a document requesting to check and verify information about the restaurant at 100 Huy Hanh.
The People's Committee of Chi Linh City has established an inspection team consisting of Market Management Team No. 2, Economic Department, Finance - Planning Department, Culture - Information Department and Pha Lai Ward People's Committee.
The document clearly states that, in order to ensure consumer rights and seriously rectify illegal business activities, the People's Committee of Chi Linh City requests the authorities to inspect and verify the above-mentioned information. Report the inspection results to the People's Committee of Chi Linh City before March 4 to have a plan to handle any violations.
Chairman of Pha Lai Ward People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duy Luy, said that as soon as the information was received, the authorities went to the restaurant to check and verify. "Initial inspection results show that the restaurant did not "rip off" customers, the group of guests and the restaurant had an agreement and paid, but when they returned, someone posted it like that," Mr. Luy informed.
Previously on February 16, a post appeared on Facebook accusing a restaurant located in Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City (Quang Ninh) of "ripping off" customers by charging nearly VND12 million for dinner there.
The authorities have stepped in to verify. Accordingly, during the process of exchanging, buying and selling goods and serving customers, the restaurant provided a price list and agreed with customers on the prices for the items requested by the group of customers.
