In the women's weightlifting competition, 55kg weight class at this ASEAN Para Games, athlete Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan of the Vietnamese disabled sports delegation Male compete with 2 athletes, Hat Motnok (Thailand) and Denesia Apote Esnara ( Philippines ). In the first attempt, Tuyet Loan successfully lifted 91kg, while the Thai athlete could only lift 78kg, and the Vietnamese athlete Philippines violated the rules. In the next two lifts, Tuyet Loan continued to raise the weight to 95kg, 98kg and succeeded, while the opponents failed to complete their competition. Despite trying to catch up with Tuyet Loan's achievement, the weight that athlete Hat Motnok successfully performed (2nd time) was only 80kg. When she had firmly held the gold medal in her hand, in the 4th lift, Tuyet Loan boldly registered for a weight of 105kg and successfully performed it, thereby breaking the ASEAN Para Games record she set at the 11th congress. Tuyet Loan's gold medal was 1 of 10 weightlifting gold medals that the Vietnamese disabled sports delegation achieved after 3 days of official competition (from June 4 to 6) at the 12th ASEAN Para Games.

It is known that at this ASEAN Para Games, Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan is the oldest athlete (born in 1975) of the Vietnamese disabled sports delegation who is still competing and winning medals. This is truly an extraordinary determination of a woman who has been paralyzed in both legs since childhood, and even has nasopharyngeal cancer, which she still lives with until now.

Born and raised in her hometown of Khanh Hoa, about 10 years ago, athlete Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan was known as one of the "gold mines" of disabled sports in the province, alongside prominent faces such as: Nguyen Van Hung, Dinh Thi Nga... Regarding achievements, even she herself does not remember exactly how many gold medals she has brought home for Khanh Hoa sports at domestic and international tournaments. But one thing is for sure, at the ASEAN Para Games, Paralympics (Olympics for people with disabilities) from 2008 to 2020, the name Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan has always been the hope and pride of disabled sports in Vietnam. However, according to research, after a long time working with Khanh Hoa disabled sports, in 2019, for some reasons, Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan decided to join another unit. Since Tuyet Loan left, Khanh Hoa’s disabled sports have gradually lost their achievements, with only a few amateur athletes still passionate about training and maintaining their fitness at some fitness clubs in the province. This is truly a regret for Khanh Hoa’s sports in general, and weightlifting for the disabled in particular.
