Fritz seemed to lack confidence when facing Djokovic, the American player had a difficult start. In the first game of serving, Fritz had to save 3 break-points and had to win 9 times to protect the game, the same thing happened in the third game when Fritz also saved 3 break-points.
However, after saving the game continuously, Fritz played solidly and continuously took the lead. Even the 12th seed almost created a surprise when he had a double set-point in the 12th game, but Djokovic successfully saved the game. In the tie-break, the stability of the Serbian player was maximized, he won 2 mini breaks and won 7-3.
Djokovic was broken in the first game of the second set, then Fritz continued to widen the gap with difficult winning games. The American player saved a total of 8 break-points in the second set, but not losing the serve game helped him advance to win 6-4, leveling the match at 1-1.
Entering the third set, Djokovic started well when he seized the opportunity to break the game to lead 2-0, then he continuously forced his opponent to chase with quick winning serve games. Fritz chased in vain, he lost the break again in the 8th game and Djokovic won 6-2.

After the first games of the fourth set, Djokovic successfully broke the sixth game to take a 4-2 lead, but Fritz quickly demanded a break in the next game and did not allow his opponent to get close to victory. Unfortunately, the American player, after eliminating his opponent's advantage, did not do well in the eighth game. Djokovic had the second break in the set and easily won 6-3, thereby ending the match with a 3-1 victory.
Djokovic will play the winner of the match between Jannik Sinner and Andrey Rublev for a ticket to the final.
