Congratulatory message on the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Cambodian People's Party

On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) (June 28, 1951 - June 28, 2023), the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam sent a congratulatory message to the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party.

The content of the telegram reads:

“Over the past 72 years, the Cambodian People's Party has led the Cambodian people to overcome many difficulties and challenges, achieving glorious victories in the struggle for national independence, saving the Cambodian people and country from the disaster of genocide as well as in building, protecting and developing an increasingly prosperous Cambodia.

Promoting historical traditions and achievements, the Cambodian People's Party will lead the Cambodian people to continue to gain many new and greater achievements, successfully implementing the Party's Platform for the 2023-2028 period and the Government's Quadrangle Strategy Phase 4, successfully building a peaceful, independent, democratic and socially progressive Cambodia.

The Party, State and people of Vietnam are very proud and happy about the achievements made on the basis of the traditional friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance between the two Parties, two States and peoples throughout the history of the struggle for national liberation and reunification in the past, as well as in the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland today.

Vietnam will do its utmost, together with Cambodia, to protect, preserve and foster the relationship between the two Parties, two States and peoples to new heights, for the prosperity and happiness of the people of each country, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

On the same day, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sent a flower basket to congratulate President of the Cambodian People's Party, Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen and Honorary President of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the National Assembly Heng Samrin; Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission sent a flower basket to congratulate Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party, Head of the Standing Committee of the Standing Committee, President of the Senate Say Chhum; Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Central Party Committee member, Head of the Central External Relations Commission sent a congratulatory letter to Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Central External Relations Commission of the Cambodian People's Party Prak Sokhonn.
