After more than a year of construction, the two routes T1 and T2 connecting Long Thanh airport with National Highway 51 and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway have taken shape, expected to open to traffic on April 30.
The T1 - T2 road project is an important project connecting Long Thanh airport with National Highway 51 and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway. The project started construction in July 2023, with a construction period of 885 days and a total value of more than VND 2,630 billion.
According to Dan Viet reporters, after more than a year of construction, the two main routes connecting Long Thanh airport with National Highway 51 and the expressway have gradually taken shape, and the main items of the project are nearly completed.
At the T1 road package (intersection of T1 with National Highway 51), the construction unit is mobilizing workers, engineers and machinery to speed up progress.
The T1 intersection with National Highway 51 has completed the concrete structure. The contractor is filling granular materials to ensure the implementation of semi-hollow asphalt concrete R25 (2.4/4.3 km) and completing the 3-layer asphalt concrete pavement (R25, CT19 and P16).
According to the design, the 4.3 km long T1 route, extending from the west of Long Thanh airport to National Highway 51, is invested with a design speed of 80 km/h according to urban main road standards.
The 3.5 km long T2 route, consisting of 4 lanes, is also being rapidly constructed.
The starting point of the route connects to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, the end point connects to the intersection with T1 road.
According to the representative of the joint venture contractor, the biggest difficulty is still the issue of grade 1 crushed stone (Dmax 25) and stone for asphalt concrete because at the end of December and the beginning of January and February, Tan Cang stone quarries had to stop supplying or supply in small amounts.
The Long Thanh International Airport Project Management Board, together with contractors, is recommending that Dong Nai province and Tan Cang quarry owners prioritize stone sources for the construction package to ensure completion of progress according to the above milestones.
