The Kremlin said on July 12 that Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China is now on the agenda, stressing that now is the right time to develop the already strong relations between the two countries.

Speaking at a regular press conference, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the timing of the visit is being discussed and will be announced once it is decided. According to Peskov, dialogue between the two countries continues at all levels. During Putin's planned visit to Beijing, the leaders of the two countries will focus on bilateral economic and trade cooperation and global issues.
Russia continues to strengthen its all-round ties with China after the conflict in Ukraine and its relations with the West sank to their lowest point since the Cold War. Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Moscow in March and signed a series of economic and other agreements with Putin.
