This morning, June 19, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the entrance exam scores for grade 10 public schools for the 2024-2025 school year.
According to statistics, this year's Literature subject did not record any candidates scoring 10 points. One candidate scored 9.5 points. The number of candidates scoring 9 - 9.25 points was 217. The number of candidates scoring from 8 to 8.75 points in Literature was 11,014. In addition, the number of candidates scoring 7 points was the highest with 9,182 candidates and 8,168 candidates scored 6.5 points.

Literature score distribution for 10th grade entrance exam in 2024, Ho Chi Minh City
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the total number of candidates registered for the 10th grade entrance exam this year is 98,681. In Literature, there were about 98,418 candidates taking the exam, 263 absent. In Foreign Language, there were about 98,375 candidates taking the exam, 306 absent. In Math, there were about 98,361 candidates taking the exam, 320 absent. In the specialized exam, there were about 7,574 candidates, 50 absent.
The 10th grade exam in Ho Chi Minh City took place on June 6-7 with more than 98,000 candidates competing for 77,300 places.
The general admission score is the total score of the three subjects Literature, Mathematics, Foreign Language and priority points (if any). Candidates must take all three subjects, not violate the regulations, and not have a failing score (0 points).
Last year, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School had the highest admission score of 25.5 points (average 8.5 points/subject). In the top 10, there were also Gia Dinh, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Nguyen Huu Huan, Bui Thi Xuan, Phu Nhuan, Tran Phu, Le Quy Don, Mac Dinh Chi, Nguyen Huu Cau, all with scores of 23 points or higher.
The lowest score is at Da Phuoc High School, Binh Khanh, Can Thanh, An Nghia, Thanh An Secondary and High School with 10.5 points, or an average of 3.5 points per subject.
How to calculate admission scores to grade 10 public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City is as follows:
Admission score = Literature exam score + Foreign language exam score + Math exam score + Priority points (if any).
How to calculate admission scores to specialized schools:
Admission score = Literature exam score + Foreign language exam score + Math exam score + Specialized subject exam score x 2.
In which, the exam scores of each subject are calculated on a 10-point scale. Successful candidates must take all 3 exams and not have any exam with a score of 0.
According to the plan on June 24, the Department will announce the benchmark scores for specialized and integrated grade 10 and direct admission results.
On July 10, the standard scores for grade 10 admission are usually announced.
July 11 - August 1, admitted candidates confirm enrollment.
