A series of major intersections such as Democracy Square, Martyrs Monument, Four Communes... are proposed to be prioritized for implementation to reduce congestion and increase connectivity between major roads with a budget of 7,000 billion VND.
The projects have just been proposed by the Department of Transport to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to prioritize implementation from now until 2030. Of which, 4 intersections in the inner city with capital needs of more than 3,700 billion VND, include: Democracy Square 6-way intersection (Districts 3, 10), Dai Liet Sy 5-way intersection (Binh Thanh), Pham Van Dong - Phan Van Tri (Binh Thanh, Go Vap), Bon Xa intersection (Binh Tan, Tan Phu). The remaining are two intersections between Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway and Rung Rac road (Can Gio) and National Highway 50 (Binh Chanh).

The above intersections are mostly located at the gateways to the city center, connecting many major roads with high traffic density, so traffic jams are frequent, especially in some areas such as the Martyrs' Monument 5-way intersection, Democracy Square, and Bon Xa intersection. In the implementation plan, these intersections will be built with overpasses or underpasses, limiting intersections between directions to help reduce traffic jams.
Particularly at the two intersections with Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, synchronous investment in connecting with surrounding routes in addition to avoiding bottlenecks will increase the investment efficiency of major routes when completed.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, there are still a series of major intersections in the city that have not been fully invested in. However, due to limited budgets, urgent projects with great impacts are proposed to be prioritized for implementation. Previously, the city invested in 9 steel overpasses to help reduce traffic pressure at major intersections in the area.
In addition to the 6 intersections mentioned above, the Department of Transport also proposed to prioritize 53 other projects from now until 2030, aiming to develop the city's transportation system. These projects are divided into many groups such as highways, beltways, large bridges over rivers, inter-regional connecting roads, etc.
