Scientific tasks have not yet been put into practice.
2023, mission The application of scientific and technological advances to build a production model for some high-value flowers in Dak Nong province was led by engineer Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang, Dak Nong Department of Science and Technology.
The task is considered to meet practical requirements, including achieving the goals of receiving and perfecting the process of producing flowers with high commercial value, developing large-scale production of potted flowers in Dak Nong province.
Accordingly, the mission has completed 3 technological processes: techniques for planting and caring for roses with many varieties such as French red, canary yellow, lotus pink, yellow, double cream flowers; techniques for planting and caring for lilies; and planting and caring for lisianthus.
Ms. Trang said that the task is to use modern greenhouse equipment, balanced fertilization, and have a system to adjust light intensity according to the growth needs of each stage of the plant.
Technology has helped flowers bloom on time such as holidays and Tet in large quantities and with consistent quality. Flower production in greenhouses can be completely proactive in regulating the time of blooming.
The mission contributes greatly to environmental protection. During the flower growing process, no pesticides harmful to the environment are used.
The model of applying drip irrigation technology in the project's gardens contributes to saving irrigation water, minimizing emissions, and not polluting land and water resources.
According to Ms. Trang, the technological processes have been introduced and announced to localities in the province for transfer. However, up to now, no locality, collective or individual has registered to receive the transfer into practice. This is something she regrets as the results of the task have not yet come into life.
Just received the mission results
In September 2024, Dak Nong Department of Science and Technology announced, introduced, and transferred the results of the science and technology task "Building an electronic tourism map of Dak Nong province" to Dak Nong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism for management and operation in practice.
The task is to build an electronic tourism map system of Dak Nong, with rich data. The map includes natural tourism resources, tourist spots and routes, visitor flows, and tourism infrastructure...
In particular, 51 tourist attractions have been selected and described in detail through text data, photos, videos and information about location and address. This helps visitors easily find their way and choose services when coming to each tourist attraction.
This scientific mission has proposed a solution combining GIS technology, remote sensing and modern programming to develop electronic tourist maps.
This system allows tourists to look up information about locations on 2D and 3D digital maps. Managers can monitor and plan tourism through multi-temporal remote sensing technology.
According to Master Dao Thi Luu, Institute of Geography, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, who is the project manager, the electronic tourism map website has a beautiful interface, can be displayed in 2 languages: English and Vietnamese on the internet environment with 2 versions: WebGIS and Mobile GIS, meeting the needs of tourism management, exploitation and promotion in the context of digital transformation.
In addition to improving promotional effectiveness, the project also helps save costs for tourism development activities. The accompanying mobile application allows users to easily look up and quickly search for tourism information.
Initially, the scientific results of the Dak Nong electronic tourism map project were quite high. However, according to the representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the department has only received the procedural results of the project so far.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has not yet carried out the next steps such as training and application deployment. Therefore, it is not possible to assess the advantages, difficulties and effectiveness of the task in practice.
Slow to replicate effective models
According to the report of the Department of Science and Technology, in recent years, scientific research and technology development activities have had many positive changes and contributions, but have not really met the requirements of promoting rapid socio-economic development of the province.
Some science and technology topics and projects are effective, but the ability to replicate and spread them is still slow. The replication and application of scientific research results has not received due attention from sectors and levels.
The number of science and technology organizations in Dak Nong province is currently quite modest, has not created any expansion steps, and the capacity for research and technology transfer and application is still limited.
Placing articles to serve the information and communication work on science and technology of the province in departments, branches and sectors still faces many difficulties. Therefore, the quality of news articles is not really diverse.
Updating information on the results of applied tasks still faces many difficulties in collecting information from the organization in charge of the S&T task or the organization assigned the ownership and right to use the results of the S&T task. Therefore, some tasks and topics are still far from real life.
In 2024 alone, in addition to a number of district-level tasks, 4 provincial-level science and technology tasks have been accepted, including: "Building a model for growing ginseng as raw materials for the production of functional foods in Dak Nong province".
Task "Research on the development model of the medicinal plant small-leaf lily to create health protection products in Krong No district, Dak Nong province". Task "Research on the development of diversified food products from avocado and noni fruit in Dak Nong province". Task "Building an electronic tourism map of Dak Nong province".
Activities of transferring and applying scientific research results and technology development in the province have been promoted recently.
After acceptance and announcement, the results of the implementation of the tasks are transferred to relevant organizations and individuals in the province through many forms such as conference on transferring results, direct application, integration in the process of implementing the tasks; propaganda through the website of the Department of Science and Technology; propaganda through reports and news articles of the provincial press agencies.
After 20 years of re-establishment of the province, Dak Nong has implemented a total of 177 science and technology tasks. Of these, 25 are at ministerial and national levels and 152 are at provincial levels.
