Identifying infrastructure investment in Nghi Son Economic Zone (KKTNS) as a very important task, Thanh Hoa province has paid attention to directing, at the same time taking advantage of and utilizing many capital sources to implement. Not only increasing competitiveness and attracting investment, infrastructure investment in the KKTNS also changes the urban appearance in a modern and civilized direction, contributing to improving and enhancing the material and spiritual life of the people.

It is known that, in addition to the foreign infrastructure investment projects invested by the Ministry of Transport, in the period of 2021-2023, the Management Board of the Economic Zone and Industrial Parks (IPs) of the province, the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects in the Economic Zone and IPs, and the People's Committee of Nghi Son town have been the investors and implemented many infrastructure projects, with a total allocated capital of up to about 5,000 billion VND. With this capital, many projects of great stature and connectivity value have been completed and put into use, such as: East-West Road 4 Project to Nghi Son Port; Tuan Cung River Improvement Project; Hai Hoa - Binh Minh Road Project...
Also in 2024, Thanh Hoa province started the project of the North-South Expressway, National Highway 1A to Nghi Son Port with a total capital of 1,345 billion VND; of which, route 1 is provincial road 512, the section from National Highway 1A to the traffic route from Tho Xuan Airport to Nghi Son Economic Zone with a length of 10.3km; route 2 is Nghi Son - Bai Tranh road, the section from Ho bridge to the intersection to the North-South Expressway with a length of 3km in Tan Truong commune (Nghi Son town)... This route, after completion, will shorten the travel time between the western districts of Thanh Hoa province and Nghi Son Economic Zone, improve the capacity of traffic, transport of goods and passengers, creating a complete traffic network connecting the North-South Expressway, Nghi Son - Tho Xuan road and regional routes with Tho Xuan Airport and Nghi Son Seaport. At the same time, it creates convenient traffic for industrial parks along the route (including industrial parks No. 3 and No. 4), as well as increases connectivity for coastal tourism.
According to the Management Board of the Economic Zone and Industrial Parks, from the beginning of 2024 to now, the unit has prepared a report proposing policies for 11 projects using the capital source of increased central budget revenue in 2022 to invest in projects in the Economic Zone, including: Investment project to complete the construction of East-West route 2; investment in the construction of the East-West route; the coastal road connecting road 513 with the port areas south of the Economic Zone; repair of sidewalks and road surface of provincial road 513 from Km7+100 to Km11+082; construction and completion of sidewalks and road drainage from National Highway 1A to Annora Shoe Factory; repair of sidewalks and completion of the lighting system of East-West route 2; repair of road surface, addition of drainage system to the Truong Lam solid waste treatment area from Km0+00-Km1+00; Renovating and repairing the road surface of the road connecting the North-South expressway intersection and industrial zones 13 and 14 - KKTNS; Upgrading and expanding North-South road 1B and North-South road 2 (from National Highway 1A in Xuan Lam ward to the intersection with North-South road 1B) - KKTNS; Upgrading and expanding the road from National Highway 1A to the southwestern industrial zones to Set mine - KKTNS; Investing in a drainage system for the northeastern industrial zones (Cau Cuu canal and Nui Coc canal) - KKTNS.
The newly proposed projects are all very important in connecting intra-regional traffic in the NSK, helping to increase connectivity and trade of goods. Typically, the East-West Road 2 and East-West Road projects will contribute to completing the infrastructure connecting to the seaport area in the northern Nghi Son area, meeting the demand for transporting goods and developing electricity projects, super-sized and super-heavy steel structure manufacturing industry, logistics services, and industrial park infrastructure.
According to the leaders of the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks, along with continuing to propose and consult on the implementation of the above projects, the unit is continuing to urge investors, contractors, and consulting units to speed up the progress of key infrastructure projects in Nghi Son Economic Zone, especially the drainage system project of Road 513 - Nghi Son Economic Zone with the goal of draining and preventing flooding for infrastructure works in Nghi Son Economic Zone before June 2024; urging the completion of construction projects connecting to Nghi Son Seaport such as coastal roads, roads to Long Son container port, the main western traffic route to facilitate trade within and outside the Nghi Son Economic Zone; the road from National Highway 1A to the starting point of East-West Road 4 to Nghi Son Port; East-West Road 4 to Nghi Son Port - Nghi Son Economic Zone; East-West Highway 1 extension - KKTNS, Dynamic Urban Complex Development Project - Tinh Gia Urban Sub-project... The unit is also actively coordinating with relevant local authorities to organize conferences to resolve difficulties and problems in the process of implementing investment procedures and site clearance, creating favorable conditions for projects to be implemented on schedule.
