Investing in a network to bring clean water to communes in Nghi Xuan

The project to install a domestic water supply pipeline network in Xuan Yen commune (Nghi Xuan - Ha Tinh) was deployed to serve the clean water needs of more than 500 households in the area.

Xuan Yen commune invests in installing a network of domestic water supply pipes

The Xuan Yen Commune Government signed a contract with Ha Tinh Water Supply Joint Stock Company to deploy the project of installing a secondary pipeline network with a total length of 24.5 km, with an investment cost of nearly 6 billion VND (4 billion VND from the district budget, 1 billion VND from the commune and nearly 1 billion VND from the people). The project, when completed and put into use, will meet the clean water needs of more than 500 households and supply industrial and service clusters in the commune.

These days, the construction unit of Hong Linh Water Supply Branch (Ha Tinh Water Supply Joint Stock Company) has gathered all the materials, mobilized machinery and workers to carry out the construction. After more than a week of starting the construction, up to now, the level 2 network pipeline system running through the villages: Trung Loc, Yen Lieu, Yen Ngu has been installed nearly 6 km, reaching 25% of the plan.

According to Mr. Le Quoc Trang - Deputy Director of Hong Linh Water Supply Branch, the unit is focusing on speeding up the construction progress, striving to complete and put the project into use before the Lunar New Year 2024. Thanks to the support of the people, the construction went smoothly. The people also helped the unit clean up and return the clean and beautiful land to the residential area.

Xuan Yen residents are mainly using well water.

Ms. Trinh Thi Hien (Yen Ngu village) shared: "My family is using well water. The water source here is contaminated with alum but we still have to use it because there is no other choice. When the clean water project was implemented, we, the people, were very happy."

“Although most of the people in Trung Loc village have invested in water purifiers, it is only enough to meet their daily drinking needs; they still have to use well water for cooking and bathing. After the village held a meeting, 75/105 households in the village registered to use clean water. Investing in a domestic water system is extremely necessary, meeting the expectations of the people for many years,” said Ms. Le Thi Thanh Mai - Head of Trung Loc village.

It is known that Nghi Xuan Water Plant managed by Hong Linh Water Supply Branch has a capacity of ^7,000m3 /day and night, but the consumption output has only reached over 50%. Therefore, developing and expanding the customer network is always the top priority. After the pipeline system in Xuan Yen commune is completed, the plant will pump clean water to households at fixed times of the day.

Bringing clean water to the village is an essential need, ensuring the health of the people.

The entire Xuan Yen commune currently has more than 1,400 households without clean water to use. Bringing clean water to the area is an essential need to protect people's health; at the same time, this is also one of the criteria of the National Criteria for Advanced New Rural Communes in the period 2021-2025.

Investing in installing a domestic water supply pipeline network not only serves the needs of the people but also fulfills criterion No. 17.1 on the rate of households using clean water so that the commune can reach the advanced NTM target in 2023.

Currently, the local government is creating all conditions and urging construction units to speed up progress and soon bring clean water to the people of Xuan Yen coastal area.
