Acting Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong said that in 2024, the locality will welcome over 3 million tourists, an increase of nearly 50 times over the same period and the highest ever.
On the afternoon of February 21, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province held a press conference on the socio-economic situation in 2024 and directions and tasks for 2025.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ha Sy Dong, Acting Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, said that in 2024, Quang Tri province achieved many remarkable results in all aspects, many targets met and exceeded the set plan.
In particular, the agricultural sector continues to be the foundation of the economy; the tourism sector achieved impressive results when welcoming over 3 million visitors, nearly 50 times higher than the previous year and the highest ever.
Up to now, Quang Tri province has basically completed the reorganization of the agency apparatus as well as job arrangement for officials and civil servants, and resolved the regime for officials retiring before the age; creating consensus among officials, civil servants and workers in the whole province.
2025 is an important year, the final year to complete the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021 - 2025, at the same time, it is the year to focus on organizing Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th Party Congress.
Accordingly, Quang Tri province focuses on implementing the main goals: the growth rate of total product in the area (according to GRDP) is 8% compared to 2024, GRDP per capita reaches 89.7 million VND, total social development investment capital reaches 32,800 billion VND.
The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has directed all levels, sectors and localities to closely follow the Resolutions and conclusions of the Central Government and the province to develop plans, scenarios, tasks and solutions to successfully implement the above goals and targets.
At the press conference, reporters also asked many questions related to issues such as mineral exploitation, livestock management, environmental pollution, site clearance, clean water in rural areas, etc.
Right at the meeting, the leaders of Quang Tri province, leaders of relevant departments and agencies answered and clarified the above issues. However, according to Mr. Ha Sy Dong, within the time frame of the press conference, there will be issues that have not been resolved and answered satisfactorily.
Mr. Ha Sy Dong suggested that departments and agencies related to the above issues continue to study, research and respond to the press so that information is accurate and objective.
The Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province also acknowledged and highly appreciated the contribution of the press to the local socio-economic development in communication and news reporting in 2024 and discussed and suggested issues for the press to continue accompanying the local development in 2025.
