Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster to Release in February 2024
The game's story focuses on Kyle Katarn, who joins the Rebel Alliance and infiltrates the Galactic Empire in order to learn about the sinister Dark Trooper project. While its sequel Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight is perhaps better known, the original game also featured some very cool Star Wars -style first-person action.
The remastered game was made using Nightdive's KEX engine, which supports resolutions up to 4K and frame rates up to 120FPS. Players can also expect improved lighting and rendering, enhanced cutscenes, gamepad support, high-resolution textures, a weapon wheel for managing their arsenal, and a personal Trophies/Achievements board. At launch, the Remastered version will be available on platforms such as Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC (via Steam).
Developer Nightdive Games is also reportedly working on other games like System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition ( which recently received a new trailer), and Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion Remastered (coming out on November 14 this year).
