Galaxy A56 smartphone comes pre-installed with OneUI 7. |
OneUI 7 was first introduced on the Galaxy S25 generation. The mid-range Galaxy A products also came pre-installed with this software suite from the factory, before many flagships last year. This is an important upgrade for popular products, as a good interface helps improve the experience a lot.
Compared to previous updates, the 7th generation of OneUI has been overhauled both in terms of appearance and core inside.
The most visible change
However, Samsung is taking a long time to optimize the new software. Currently, only the Galaxy A and S series launched this year have OneUI 7. Last year's flagship devices will gradually be updated in Vietnam by mid-April. Users of mid-range or older products will continue to have to wait.
On the software side, the system transitions have been completely reworked. This is an upgrade that significantly improves the experience. For example, iPhones often feel smoother than Androids because Apple handles animations better.
Similar to the new One UI, the Galaxy A ensures a response speed that is no less than the flagship. When users open an app, swipe back to the system, or quickly switch apps, the device responds immediately, with less lag than before. This change is more valuable for the Galaxy A, as the product has a mid-range price and configuration, and its stability is not as good as the flagship.

In addition, Samsung's system software still retains the values that users love. The device comes with a default calling app, instead of Google Caller. Samsung's application is designed to be synchronized with the system, easy to use. At the same time, customers can record calls without annoying notifications.
Korean companies also respect users and do not install “junk” apps on their phones at the factory. Chinese companies, to optimize costs, often install a lot of malware on their phones. For example, they often install more than 20 Google apps, including many software that Vietnamese people rarely use such as Wallet, Home, TV, which cannot be deleted. Xiaomi, Vivo, Realme also put ads on system apps, causing annoyance.
Samsung phones do not have this problem. The notification delay phenomenon that is common on Chinese phones is also rarely seen on Galaxy smartphones.
New Features
In terms of appearance, Samsung developed the new OneUI in the direction of expanding the viewing and operating space. Tables and buttons are all larger with thicker fonts. This can reduce the amount of information displayed. In return, the level of intuition and convenience increases.
Similar to the icon set, many users responded that the new icons have too much color contrast and lack of uniformity. However, customers can easily categorize and search when placing many apps on the screen.

Samsung does not provide a deep level of customization in terms of the default interface. In return, the company has the GoodLock toolkit. It includes many software that allows intervention in the display, sound, lock screen... of the device.
On Galaxy A, the company added the Awesome Intelligence suite with basic functions including Circle to Search, removing objects in photos, and selecting beautiful faces when taking group photos. It still lacks the generative functions in Galaxy AI. However, this is the first step for customers to access artificial intelligence on the terminal.
The A26, 36, and 56 models inherit the quick filter editing function before shooting. Its function is similar to Photographic Style on iPhone 16, but easier to use thanks to being classified by each index.
OneUI 7 still has some issues. Samsung needs more time to optimize performance. The company does not automatically stop background apps like Xiaomi, Oppo... so battery life may be affected. Update speed also needs to be improved, as Android 16 is about to be released.
