On the afternoon of March 18, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh worked with a delegation of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) and about 60 large US enterprises visiting and working in Vietnam, led by USABC President and CEO Ted Osius, former US Ambassador to Vietnam.

According to Mr. Ted Osius, Vietnam is now entering an era of economic and political transformation. Vietnam's recent reforms not only promote long-term economic reform but also reduce barriers to the import of US goods, strengthening Vietnam's position in global trade. This creates a more attractive environment for expanding investment and business activities.
"We are always ready to contribute to Vietnam's policy activities and appreciate the openness of the Vietnamese Government. It can be said that the current restructuring efforts are directly addressing many long-standing issues, paving the way for deeper cooperation and stronger two-way investment.
In particular, Vietnam's reforms are consistent with the US Administration's priorities, including promoting sustainable supply chains, opening markets for US products, and creating a level playing field for US businesses," the USABC Chairman emphasized.
Recently, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien had a very successful visit to the United States, with many cooperative activities and many contracts signed. Vietnam is also one of the countries sending the largest number of delegations to the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2025.
"We support Vietnamese and US investments, including in the gas sector, ensuring long-term stable supplies of liquefied natural gas to Vietnam and efforts to improve the bilateral trade balance between the two countries," said Mr. Ted Osius.
Looking back at the significant progress the two countries have made, Mr. Ted Osius expressed his impression of the important steps forward in diplomacy, trade, investment, culture, education, national defense and security, and bilateral relations.
USABC representatives expressed their determination to contribute to and strengthen the good relationship between the United States and Vietnam.
